ANOINTED FOR KINGDOM EXPLOITS

ANOINTED FOR KINGDOM EXPLOITS

Introduction

The Kingdom of God is advanced not by human wisdom, eloquence, or natural strength, but by the power of the Holy Spirit working through God’s chosen vessels. Jesus Himself, though the Son of God, declared:

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me…” (Luke 4:18).

The anointing upon Jesus: Empowered Him to preach the good news. Enabled Him to heal the brokenhearted. Gave Him power to deliver captives. Opened blind eyes and set people free from oppression. Jesus did not perform miracles because He was the Son of God alone. He performed them because He was anointed by the Spirit. That same Spirit is available to believers today.

If Jesus needed the anointing to fulfill His assignment, every believer and minister alike called of God to do one thing or another in the kingdom works must also be anointed for kingdom exploits. The anointing is the divine enablement, empowerment, and consecration that equips a person to accomplish supernatural tasks for God’s glory.

1. What is the Anointing?

The anointing is both a Person and a power. It is not merely oil, ritual, fire or outward sign, but the Holy Spirit Himself coming upon and working through a vessel in the fulness of His power [Acts 1:8].

The anointing is the supernatural empowerment of the Holy Spirit upon a sanctified vessel to fulfill God’s divine assignment with effectiveness, excellence, and authority.

“God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.” (Acts 10:38).

“But the anointing which ye have received of him abide in you…” (1 John 2:27).

The anointing is God’s seal of authorization, His divine equipment for divine assignment.

2. How Does the Anointing Work for Kingdom Exploits?

The anointing is not just a feeling; it is the Spirit of God working in and through you.

It works in four ways:

Illumination (Revelation): It opens your eyes to understand God’s Word and see solutions others cannot see (1 Cor. 2:10).

Inspiration (Stimulates and encourage us): It fills you with boldness and confidence to do God’s will (Acts 4:31).

Impartation (Power): It brings supernatural strength or energy for healing, deliverance, and miracles (Mark 16:17–18).

Implementation (Action: Use to do the Father’s bidding): It enables you to carry out God’s instructions effectively (Phil. 2:13).

Peter, before the anointing, denied Jesus out of fear (Matt. 26:74). After being filled with the Spirit, he preached boldly, and 3,000 people were saved in one day (Acts 2:41). Even his shadow healed the sick after he was empowered by the Holy Spirit. That’s how the anointing works for kingdom exploits!

3. How to Become Anointed

The anointing is not accidental; it comes through divine principles and spiritual positioning.

Such must be…

Consecrated and Holy

Vessels must be cleansed and set apart. “Be ye clean, that bear the vessels of the Lord” (Isaiah 52:11).

Purity precedes power. [Psa. 24:3-4]

Desire and Hunger for God [Matt. 5:6]

The thirsty are filled. (John 7:37–39).

Intimacy and Fellowship with the Holy Spirit [John 15:4-5]

Must spend time in prayer [Acts 2:1-4], worship, and waiting [Isa. 40:29-31], to unlock the flow of the Spirit.

Impartation through Spiritual Authority: Elijah imparted to Elisha. Such that imparts must be holy vessels of God.

Elisha received the anointing from Elijah (2 Kings 2:9–15).

Obedience and Faithfulness in Small Things [Parable of Talents Matt. 25:21]

David was anointed while faithfully tending sheep (1 Samuel 16:11–13).

Prayer and Fasting [Matt. 17:20-21; Mark 9:14-29]

Jesus entered His ministry “in the power of the Spirit” after 40 days of fasting (Luke 4:14).

The anointing is available to all believers, but it is reserved in greater measure for those who are willing to pay the price of intimacy, consecration, and obedience. It is one thing to have it, one thing to maintain it, and another thing entirely to increase in anointing

4. The Work and Exploits of the Anointing

The anointing is not for decoration; it is functional. It empowers believers for exploits in the Kingdom.

Destroying Yokes and Bondages

“The yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.” (Isaiah 10:27).

Empowerment for Ministry

Jesus healed, delivered, and preached by the anointing (Luke 4:18).

Manifesting the Gifts of the Spirit

Healings, miracles, prophecy, and deliverances flow through the anointing.

We can only advance the Kingdom against Satan’s Power by the anointing.

The apostles turned cities upside down because of the anointing (Acts 17:6).

Anointing brings divine wisdom and revelation

The Spirit of wisdom and understanding rests upon the anointed (Isaiah 11:2; Eph. 1:17-18).

Raising Generational Impact

Joseph, Daniel, and Paul made an eternal impact through divine empowerment.

The anointing empowers ministers not just for pulpit performance, but for transformational impact in the world.

Empowers for service and witness (Acts 1:8).

Brings healing and deliverance (Mark 16:17, 18).

Transforms ordinary men into extraordinary and powerful vessels (1 Sam. 10:6 – Saul became “another man”).

Advances the kingdom of God by confronting darkness and establishing righteousness.

When you pray for someone and they are encouraged, healed, or delivered, that is the anointing at work. Even teaching a Bible study that touches hearts is evidence of the anointing. The Anointing teaches us all things.

“But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things…But the anointing which ye have received of him abide in you, and ye need not that any man teaches you: but as the same anointing teaches you of all things, and is truth 1Jn 2:20, 27.

Before Pentecost, the disciples hid in fear. After Pentecost, they preached openly, even before rulers (Acts 4:31).

“And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.” Act 4:31

Why boldness is important:

It silences fear and intimidation (2 Tim. 1:7).

It enables us to confront sin and evil.

The Anointing and Breakthrough

The anointing is a breaker’s anointing; it destroys barriers and opens new doors.

“The breaker is come up before them… and their king shall pass before them, and the LORD on the head of them.” Micah 2:14

The anointing brings breakthroughs in:

We win in spiritual battles by reason of the anointing (breaking curses, demonic oppression).

Anointing moves us into destiny (moving from limitation or stagnation into fulfillment).

Helps us to fulfill ministry and lifts us up in life (unlocking new levels of influence and success).

David was anointed as a teenager, and that anointing caused him to rise from shepherd to king, breaking every limitation in his life (1 Sam. 16:13).

5. How to Stabilize, Preserve, and Increase the Anointing

The anointing can be quenched, leaked, or lost if neglected,

“Dead flies cause the ointment of the apothecary to send forth a stinking savor: so doth a little folly him that is in reputation for wisdom and honor.” Eccl. 10:1

Sin corrupts the vessel and grieves the Spirit (Ephesians 430).

Anointing can also be preserved and multiplied.

We must cultivate a deeper relationship with God through prayer, reading, studying, and meditating on God’s Word. We must stay humble, live a spiritual lifestyle, embrace obedience, serve others with the anointing, and maintain pure motives by making intimacy with God our primary goal.

Believers must…

Maintain Holiness and Integrity

Continual Fellowship with the Spirit

Constant prayer, worship, and communion (2 Corinthians 13:14).

Obedience to Divine Instructions

Obedience keeps the flow open and continuous (John 2:5).

Humility and Brokenness maintain and increase the anointing

Pride expels the anointing; humility sustains it (James 4:6).

Word Saturation: Read, study, meditate upon, and be a doer

The Word is the petrol that ignites the Spirit’s operations (Colossians 3:16).

Regular Spiritual Renewal

“Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord” Acts 3:19

After repenting of our sin, “times of refreshing” restore and increase the anointing (Acts 3:19).

Honoring and Serving Spiritual Fathers. Elisha followed Elijah closely until he received a double portion (2 Kings 2:12–15).

The anointing grows in a life that continually yields, learns, and submits to God.

6. The Blessings of the Anointing

The anointing brings both spiritual and practical blessings.

Fruitful Ministry and Kingdom Exploits

Souls saved, miracles wrought, lives transformed.

Divine Protection and Preservation

“Touch not mine anointed…” (Psalm 105:15).

Divine Favor and Elevation

David was lifted from shepherd to king by the anointing (1 Samuel 16:13).

Peace, Joy, and Freshness

7. Works of the Anointing

“But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of an unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil.  Mine eye also shall see my desire on mine enemies, and mine ears shall hear my desire of the wicked that rise up against me. The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing” Psa. 92:10-14

1.      Anointed with fresh oil. God is outpouring something fresh and new upon my life and ministry

2.      Anointing deals with the enemy of my soul. My eyes see my desires upon them, My ears shall hear my desires upon them

3.      I shall flourish like a palm tree

4.      Grow like Cedars in Lebanon.

5.      I shall flourish in the courts of our God

6.      I shall bring forth fruit even in old age

7.      I shall be fat and flourishing

Believers shall begin to make a generational impact and be given a spiritual inheritance

The anointing leaves footprints of eternal relevance.

Key truth: The blessings of the anointing extend beyond the minister to everyone connected to their ministry.

SUSTAINING THE ANOINTING

Receiving the anointing is one thing; keeping it fresh is another. Many lose relevance because they failed to sustain the oil.

Ways to sustain the Anointing

Intimacy with God – constant prayer, Word, and worship (John 15:7).

Holiness and Purity – sin dries the oil (Eccl. 9:8; 1 Thess. 5:19).

Humility – pride drives the Spirit away (James 4:6).

Obedience – following God’s instructions keeps the oil flowing.

Fresh Infilling – keep seeking more of God (Eph. 5:18).

Guarded Associations – avoid people who drain or corrupt the anointing (Judges 16 – Samson).

“…I shall be anointed with fresh oil.” Psalm 92:10

Just like a car needs regular fuel, the anointing needs regular refreshing. Yesterday’s oil is not enough for today’s battles.

EXAMPLES OF THOSE WHO DID KINGDOM EXPLOITS

Throughout Scripture, we see men and women who, by the anointing, shook kingdoms and advanced God’s purpose. Their stories inspire faith and give proof that kingdom exploits are possible when God’s Spirit is upon a person.

Moses (Exodus 3–14): From a stammering fugitive to a mighty deliverer who parted the Red Sea, called down plagues on Egypt, and brought Israel out by God’s power.

David (1 Samuel 16–17): Anointed as a boy, he defeated Goliath, ruled Israel, subdued nations, and established worship as the heartbeat of God’s people.

Elijah (1 Kings 17–18): Through the anointing, he shut the heavens, called down fire on Mount Carmel, and turned the heart of Israel back to God.

Daniel (Daniel 6 & 11:32): His devotion and wisdom preserved Israel in Babylon. Even in captivity, he did exploits through prayer, visions, and unshakable faith.

The Apostles (Acts 2–5): Fishermen, tax collectors, and ordinary men became world-changers after Pentecost, healing the sick, raising the dead, and turning cities upside down.

Paul (Acts 19; Romans 15:18–19): With signs, wonders, and mighty revelation, he pioneered churches across nations and left us much of the New Testament.

The common thread: None of these men and women could do exploits by natural strength; it was the anointing that made the difference.

PERILS OF THE ANOINTED

While the anointing is powerful, Scripture warns us that there are dangers for the anointed if care is not taken:

Pride – Nebuchadnezzar, Saul, and even Uzziah fell when pride entered after success (2 Chr. 26:16).

Complacency – Samson assumed the anointing would always be there, but carelessness cost him his strength (Judges 16:20).

Burnout – Elijah, after calling fire, became weary and depressed. Exploits must be sustained by rest and renewed fellowship with God (1 Kings 19).

Temptation – The anointing attracts attacks. Joseph was tested by Potiphar’s wife, David by Bathsheba. Without vigilance, exploits can be undone by sin.

Misuse of Power – Anointing is not for show. When Simon the sorcerer sought power for gain, Peter rebuked him (Acts 8:18–20).

Isolation – Lone rangers are vulnerable. Even anointed leaders need accountability and fellowship.

The peril is that one may begin in power but end in shame if humility, holiness, and vigilance are neglected.

CONCLUSION

To be anointed is to be divinely empowered for divine assignment. Jesus, the patterned Son, showed us the way: consecration, intimacy with the Father, obedience, and empowerment of the Spirit. Every minister who desires to do exploits in this generation must seek, sustain, and increase in the anointing. The more you walk in the Spirit as seen in the river of living waters in Ezek. 47:1-12; the more you go deeper in the indwelling of the anointing in your life and ministry.

To be anointed for kingdom exploits is to be empowered by God for extraordinary impact that glorifies Christ and advances His Kingdom. But this journey requires understanding:

Examples encourage us that exploits are possible.

Patterns show us the way to walk.

Perils warn us of the dangers to avoid.

Blessings inspire us to keep pressing forward.

The Kingdom needs anointed men and women who will rise in purity, boldness, and obedience to turn cities and nations back to God. The question is: Will you be one of them?

The anointing is God’s divine empowerment for kingdom exploits. Without it, we remain ordinary; with it, we become extraordinary. It is the Holy Spirit’s power that enables us to:

Take charge spiritually.

Be fruitful in life and ministry.

Walk in boldness and victory.

Break through barriers and limitations.

Sustain relevance through fresh encounters.

Expand God’s kingdom and fulfill the Great Commission.

Like Jesus, may we be anointed to preach, heal, deliver, and bring liberty. Like the apostles, may we carry fire that turns cities to Christ. And like David, may we walk in the breaker’s anointing to fulfill destiny.

“Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, saith the Lord.” Zach. 4:6

Final Exhortation: Desire the anointing. Protect it with purity. Stir it with prayer. Use it for God’s glory. For the world is waiting for the manifestation of the sons of God (Romans 8:19).

UNDERSTANDING THE MYSTERY OF THE SONS OF GOD

Key Text: Galatians 4:1-7

The people of God are in a spiritual slumber and comatose state in today’s Church; so, God is calling His children to wake up. To wake up out of our slumber, to wake up out of worldliness, to wake up out of our self and selfishness, and to step into victory. We must return to love and live the Truth as seen in the glorious Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, and return to fellowship with the Holy Spirit. It is the Gospel that can take a person who is a child of hell, a child of the world, a child of darkness, or a backslidden Christian, and make them genuine children of God.

A child of God no longer loves this world, no longer a lover of money, no longer a lover of wickedness, but now a lover of God, a lover of His commands, and a lover of His Son. The Gospel calls us to be sons and daughters of the Lord Jesus Christ, and we must truly know the begotten Son; we must understand how we too are translated into sonship, our status as sons, and what is made available unto us as sons of the heavenly Father.

Sons of God are those who God has spiritually birthed through faith in Christ; such carry His divine nature, walk in obedience to His” Spirit, reflect His character, and represent His authority on earth. They are not just children by position, but mature heirs who walk in intimacy with the Father, manifest His glory, and carry out His purposes. Sons are ambassadors of Heaven, revealing the Father’s nature (love, holiness, truth), the authority of Christ (power over darkness), and the wisdom of the Spirit (solution-bearers on the earth). The concept of believers being adopted into God's family through faith in Jesus Christ emphasizes their Christlike identity, responsibilities, and the manifestation of God's glory in their lives.

“But all who recognized and accepted him—all who valued and accepted the character, methods, and principles he revealed—he made them children of God, transforming them into like character, practicing God’s methods and principles. They were made God’s children not because of genetics or biological descent, or because of human procreation, but because of the transformation of mind, heart, and character brought about by God.” John 1:12-13 Remedy Bible

When we newly accept Jesus Christ as both Lord and Savior, we are likened to “babes in Christ” because our knowledge and Christlikeness are shallow and limited, and we will be feeding on the milk of the Word of God, which the Spirit of God uses to give us insight into our position in God continually. We will continue to grow and be transformed into the image of Christ from one level to another. It is here that the foundation is laid, and we will be taught the elementary principles of the kingdom of God.

“The principles of the doctrine of Christ… laying… the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment” Heb. 6:1-2

It is when we are weaned from this that we grow into maximized manhood or sons of God when we can now partake of the strong meat of the word of God. It is possible to be a Christian for 20 years or even a Minister of the gospel and still be labelled “a babe in Christ” because they refuse to be a hearer and doer of the word, mortify the deeds of the flesh in them and not giving the Holy Spirit His place in them as teacher, counsellor, comforter, nor allow Him to empower them among many other things; and such will still be in bondage and not free because they neglect the truth that will set them free.

“Now I say, that the heir, as long as he is a child, differs nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all; But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed by the father. Even so, we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world.” Gal. 4:1-3

But those who continue to feed only on milk and not maturing in the knowledge of the kingdom nor maturing into sonship are likened unto children who cannot partake of strong meat nor grow into becoming like Christ as being matured Christians.

Sonship is identifying with Christ as joint heir, having intimacy with God, knowing and accessing their inheritance in God, and being responsible children of God who walk in the spirit and do not fulfill the lust thereof. Sonship begins by faith in Christ.

“The mature children of God are those who are moved by the impulses of the Holy Spirit”. Rom 8:14 TPT

To be a son is to be led by the Spirit and to live as an expression of the Father’s will on earth, knowing from scripture that His will must be done on earth as it has been done in heaven. True sons live under the leadership of the Spirit, giving Him the right to lead, guide, and direct in all facets of life.

“And you did not receive the “spirit of religious duty,” leading you back into the fear of never being good enough. But you have received the “Spirit of full acceptance,” enfolding you into the family of God. And you will never feel orphaned, for as he rises up within us, our spirits join him in saying the words of tender affection, “Beloved Father!” For the Holy Spirit makes God’s fatherhood real to us as he whispers into our innermost being, “You are God’s beloved child!” Rom. 8:15-16 TPT

The concept of adoption in the Old Testament among the Israelites is that at age 30, children are transitioned into the adulthood stage and have adult rights conferred. However, in the New Testament, it is not an automatic transition but only for believers who have matured from the babe-in-Christ stage into the maximized adult stage who partake of strong meat of the word of God and are spiritually mature to handle deeper things in God.

“For the earnest expectation of the creature wait for the manifestation of the sons of God” Rom. 8:19

It is only fully grown children who have transitioned from being a child into a son that can become like Jesus in power, glory, authority, anointing, spiritual gifts, and can do the same kingdom works that Jesus did, and even do greater.

Read Romans 8:14-17

This is the pinnacle of Paul’s teaching on sonship. The Spirit confirms our identity as sons, freeing us from slavery to fear and enabling us to call God “Abba, Father.” This intimate term reflects the closeness of our relationship with the Father, made possible through Jesus.

Our sonship also makes us heirs. We share in Jesus’ inheritance, His glory, authority, and mission. Suffering with Him does not negate this inheritance but refines it, preparing us to fully reflect His glory

Read Romans 8:19-21

The revealing of the sons of God is the hope of creation. As sons, we are not only heirs of salvation but also agents of restoration. Our identity is tied to the redemption of the world, as we carry the Father’s authority to bring His kingdom on earth

Sons must let the Spirit of sonship rise from within them. The greater One is within sons (1 John 4:4). Jesus said, “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” John 10:19

When we manifest as sons, we walk in the original purpose of God in creating man. The first Adam was referred to as “son of God” in the book of Luke.’ [Luke 3:38]. In that position, he walked in dominion. He lost it all as a result of the fall. Jesus came as the only begotten Son of God to show us how to live like ‘sons’ on the earth.  Jesus was called the second Adam so that we can know and comprehend that what was originally given to the first Adam, was what the second Adam came with to do kingdom living and kingdom works. May God open our understanding to who we are in Christ and enable us by His Spirit to manifest our sonship.

“For he knew all about us before we were born, and he destined us from the beginning to share the likeness of his Son. This means the Son is the oldest among a vast family of brothers and sisters who will become just like him. Rom. 8:29 TPT

Sons of God are conformed to the image of Christ, the Firstborn Son. Through continuous reading, studying, meditating upon, and doing the word of God and looking at the word like a mirror, such are transformed, transfigured, or metamorphosed by the grace of revelation that the Holy Spirit proffered, going from one level of change to a higher one in an ever-increasing splendor. That is how maturity is birthed from children to sons of God.

“For the earnest expectation of the creature wait for the manifestation of the sons of God.” Rom. 8:19.

Creation awaits the revealing of matured sons who carry God’s glory and authority. Only the matured sons have the authoritative power, having become like Christ, full of the word of God, empowered by the anointing of the Spirit, and living in obedience to the will, way, and word of God that have been capacitated to wield the power of the age to come just like Christ did.

“Because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father... and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.” Gal. 4:6-7

For emphasis’s sake, such are inaugurated into mature manhood, having graduated from babes into sons. And they are not just sons who are in age but in spiritual disposition because all that God has and all that God is that was infused into Christ had been given to them [John 17:22] to live as Christians and do the works that Christ did and even greater works.

“And since we are his true children, we qualify to share all his treasures, for indeed, we are heirs of God himself. And since we are joined to Christ, we also inherit all that he is and all that he has. We will experience being co-glorified with him provided that we accept his sufferings as our own”. Rom. 8:17 TPT

Sonship grants us access to God's inheritance and intimacy. Such become like Jesus, who, after being anointed by the Spirit [Luke 4:18], lived to obey all God’s ordinances and do the works of the kingdom, just like Jesus Christ did.

“Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God… Beloved, now are we the sons of God…And every man that hath this hope in him purifies himself, even as he is pure.” 1 John 3:1, 2, 3.

Sons carry the heart of the Father by living to obey Acts 1:8 and becoming like Jesus, reconciling and restoring those who are lost Acts 10;38; such obeying Matthew 28:18 making disciples of all men teaching them to observe to do all that we are mandated to do by Christ, and preaching everywhere so that God can be working with is with signs following [Mark 16:20].

Sonship is a present identity and a future glory. It means we identify with the office where they have been placed as ambassadors of Christ, also as kings and priests working under the leadership of the King of kings and the High Priest Jesus Christ. Moreover, we partake of the power of the age to come so that many in the kingdom of darkness can be brought into the kingdom of light

Sons develop Christlike character. The name Christian means believers who have perfected the act of being like, walking like, and wielding spiritual armor like Christ. They labor to kill the works of the flesh remaining in them until the nature and character of Christ be fully formed in them.

“...Till Christ be formed in you.” Galatians 4:19

Sons reflect the nature of Jesus which are the fruits of the Spirit including humility, purity, obedience, love, and wisdom. [Gal. 5:22-23]

“…For whom the Lord loveth he chastens… if ye be without chastisement… then are ye bastards, and not sons.” Hebrews 12:6-8

True sons submit to divine discipline and grow in maturity. We are like military men in training who are thoroughly trained and disciplined so that they can mature in military tactics and stand warring to win. We are well equipped, trained and disciplined, so that we can be well prepared for kingdom works.

“That ye may be blameless… the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked… nation, among whom ye shine…” Philippians 2:15

Lastly on this, we are likened to raw gold, when we come into the kingdom of light, the training rigor is like fire that is meant to purify, purge out, burn off all the behavioral pattern and lifestyle of the world that is still dwelling in us. It is expected that when we step up from children to sons, we would have allowed the twin tower of the Spirit to mortify the deeds of the flesh and crucify carnality so that we will become blameless, unblemished, purified, consecrated, purged so that we can now ascend to the mountain of the Lord with pure heart and clean hands [Psalms 15, 24].

We see the calling of people like David, how he was called by God at age 17 but went through training that looked like affliction but he was trained for 13 years before He was allowed to ascend the Throne as king. He had to reach maturity stage before his enthronement.

“But upon mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness; and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions.” Obad. 1:17

Until children walk in holiness, there is no deliverance, and where there is no holiness, there is no possession. Only sons ascend to Mount Zion, and upon Mount Zion, there shall be holiness, deliverance and we will possess our spiritual heritage.

Sons shine in darkness with purity and are purposed to do the Father’s bidding. Their faces are set like a flint to preach the kingdom, set captives free, heal the sick, and deliver the oppressed.

Examples of Christians who mature into sonship

We need to study biblical saints who grew from spiritual children to mature sons, demonstrating the journey of spiritual maturity and sonship.

1. Samuel: From Ministering Boy to Prophetic Son

Scripture: 1 Samuel 2:18, 26; 1 Samuel 3:19-21

Samuel started as a young boy ministering before the Lord, wearing a linen ephod (1 Sam. 2:18). Though he did not yet know the Lord intimately (1 Sam. 3:7), he had a teachable heart and served under Eli. God progressively revealed Himself to Samuel until "the Lord was with him, and let none of his words fall to the ground" (1 Sam. 3:19).

Spiritual Maturity Evidence:

1.Grew in favor with God and men (1 Sam. 2:26)

2.Became a trustworthy prophetic voice to Israel (1 Sam. 3:20)

3.Transitioned from serving in the house to hearing God's voice clearly

True sonship is developed by submission, consistent growth in the presence of God, and embracing divine responsibility.

2. Timothy: From Spiritual Child to Faithful Son in Ministry

Scripture: 2 Timothy 1:5; 1 Timothy 4:12; Philippians 2:22

Timothy was a young man with sincere faith, which he inherited from his mother and grandmother (2 Tim. 1:5).

Paul called him “my true son in the faith” (1 Timothy 1:2). Although he was young, he matured into a faithful, dependable leader.

Spiritual Maturity Evidence

1.Trusted with doctrine and leadership (1 Tim. 4:6, 11–16)

2.Had proven character like a son serving with a father (Phil. 2:22)

3.Carried Paul’s apostolic heart and mantle to the churches

Spiritual maturity is developed through discipleship, faithfulness in service, and commitment to sound doctrine.

3. Jesus: Model of Sonship and Growth

Scripture: Luke 2:40, 52; Hebrews 5:8

Although divine, Jesus grew as a child, "waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was upon Him" (Luke 2:40). He submitted to his earthly parents and matured into full sonship, where God publicly affirmed Him (Matt. 3:17).

Spiritual Maturity Evidence

1.Grew in wisdom, stature, favor (Luke 2:52)

2.Learned obedience through suffering (Heb. 5:8)

3.Manifested the Father’s will and nature completely (John 14:9)

4.Maturity in sonship comes by yielding to process, obedience, and intimacy with the Father.

The Blessings of Growing from Babes in Christ to Matured Sons.

1. From Milk to Meat: The Blessing of Deeper Revelation

"As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby" – 1 Peter 2:2

"Strong meat belongs to them that are of full age..." Hebrews 5:14

Spiritual babes feed on milk, basic truths of the faith. But as we grow, we gain access to strong meat, depth, mysteries, and mature insight into God’s heart.

Greater clarity in the Word, access to divine mysteries, prophetic insight, and deeper communion with God.

2. From Carnality to Sonship: The Blessing of Spiritual Authority

"For ye are yet carnal... Are ye not carnal, and walk as men?" 1 Corinthians 3:1-3

"As many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God." Romans 8:14

Babes walk in the flesh: Envy, division, and emotional instability, but matured sons are Spirit-led, disciplined, and rooted in love and truth.

Blessings include Power to live above the flesh, authority to rule over circumstances, and dominion in spiritual matters.

3. From Immaturity to Responsibility: The Blessing of Kingdom Trust

"Now I say, That the heir... differs nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all; but is under tutors... until the time appointed..." Galatians 4:1-2

"It is required in stewards that a man be found faithful." 1 Cor. 4:2

Spiritual babes are not entrusted with weighty kingdom assignments. Maturity qualifies you to steward spiritual gifts, revelation, and people. Blessings include the fact that God entrusts them with responsibility, divine assignments, and eternal rewards.

4. From Identity Confusion to Manifestation: The Blessing of Glory and Sonship Expression

"The earnest expectation of the creature wait for the manifestation of the sons of God." Romans 8:19

"Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God..." 1 John 3:1

Mature sons carry and reflect the Father’s nature. They reveal Christ in character, power, and dominion.

The blessing here is that we will become God’s expression on earth, carriers of glory, honor, and divine solutions.

5. From Wavering Faith to Full Stature: The Blessing of Stability and Fruitfulness

"...Till we all come... unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ" Eph. 4:13-14

"They shall still bring forth fruit in old age..." Psalm 92:14

Spiritual babes in Christ are tossed by every wind of doctrine and unstable in all their ways. Sons are stable, rooted, and unmovable. They bear lasting fruit in every season.

Blessings here include spiritual stability, consistency, lasting impact, and fruitfulness in life and ministry.

6. From Discipline to Inheritance: The Blessing of Intimacy and Reward

"Whom the Lord loveth He chastened..." Hebrews 12:6-11

"If children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ..." Romans 8:17

God disciplines babes to produce sons. Sons are heirs, possessors of covenant promises and eternal inheritance. Blessings include the fact that we will inherit spiritual riches, intimacy with the Father, and eternal rewards.

Maturity in Christ is not optional; it is the pathway to fullness.

God loves all His children, but He entrusts responsibility, authority, and inheritance only to sons who have grown in understanding, obedience, and intimacy.

“Let us go on unto perfection...” Hebrews 6:1

EVIDENCE OF SONSHIP UPON MATURED SONS AS SEEN IN CHRIST JESUS

1. Living in intimacy with the Father

“I and my Father are one.” John 10:30

“The Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do...” John 5:19

Evidence seen in Jesus

Jesus lived from the secret place of communion. Sons of God walk in continuous fellowship with the Father.

As seen in us:

We are led by the Spirit and abide in God’s presence through prayer, obedience, and love for His will.

"As many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God." Romans 8:14

2. Manifestation of the Father’s nature

“He that hath seen me hath seen the Father.” John 14:9

“Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father ... is perfect.” Matthew 5:48

Evidence in Jesus:

Jesus radiated the Father’s character, which is holiness, love, truth, and mercy.

Evidence in Us:

True sons bear the fruit of the Spirit and reflect Christlike character.

“By their fruits ye shall know them.” Matthew 7:20

“We are being transformed into His image...” 2 Corinthians 3:18

3. Obedience and surrender to the Father’s will

“I do always those things that please Him.” John 8:29

“Not my will, but Thine be done.” Luke 22:42

Evidence in Jesus:

Jesus lived in total obedience, even unto the death of the cross.

Evidence in us:

Sons surrender personal ambition to embrace the will and timing of God.

“Though He were a Son, yet learned He obedience...” Hebrews 5:8

“Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ...” Philippians 2:5-8

4. Authority and dominion

“With authority commanded He even the unclean spirits...” Mark 1:27

“All power is given unto me... Go ye therefore...” Matthew 28:18-19

Evidence in Jesus:

Jesus exercised kingdom authority over sickness, demons, nature, and death.

Evidence in us:

Mature sons operate in divine authority through faith, righteousness, and intimacy.

“Behold, I give you power... over all the power of the enemy.” Luke 10:19

“The whole earth awaits the manifestation of the sons of God.” Romans 8:19

5. Carrying the Father’s burden and mission

“The Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost.” Luke 19:10

“As my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.” John 20:21

Evidence in Jesus:

Jesus lived for the Father’s purpose, which includes saving souls, healing, teaching, and destroying the works of the devil.

Evidence in us:

True sons carry God's heartbeat for the lost, the Church, and the Kingdom.

“We are ambassadors for Christ...” 2 Corinthians 5:20

“Occupy till I come.” Luke 19:13

The word "occupy till I come" is deep. It simply means do the same works that I did till I come back; such are filled with glory, power, anointing, and the seven spirits of God to do excellent works as ambassadors in the kingdom of light.

6. Endurance of discipline and suffering

“Though He were a Son, yet learned He obedience by the things which He suffered.” – Hebrews 5:8

“If ye endure chastening, God deal with you as with sons...” Hebrews 2:7

Evidence in Jesus:

He embraced suffering and discipline, proving His maturity and trust in God.

Evidence in us:

Sons submit to God's dealings, pruning, and training to be fruitful and usable.

“Afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness...” Hebrews 12:11

7. Public affirmation by the Father

“This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” Matthew 3:17

Evidence in Jesus:

He was publicly affirmed by the Father as a true Son, walking in pleasure and alignment.

Evidence in us

God affirms us through fruitfulness, favor, spiritual authority, and heaven’s backing.

The evidence of sonship is not in mere confession but in transformation, obedience, maturity, and manifestation of the Father’s will and nature. As we grow in Christ, these same signs that marked Jesus will be evident in us.

“He that saith he abides in Him ought himself also so to walk, even as He walked.” 1 John 2:6

UNDERSTANDING AND ELIMINATING EVIL PATTERN

UNDERSTANDING AND ELIMINATING EVIL PATTERNS

An evil pattern is a recurring negative cycle or repeated undesirable behavior, experience, spiritual cycles or condition that affects and persists in an individual, family, or lineage, often rooted in spiritual causes. These patterns resist spiritual growth; success, health, relationships, progress, and hinder destiny or even ministry. It can manifest in areas such as health, relationships, finances, or spirituality.

They are believed to be orchestrated by demonic forces, ancestral covenants, or unbroken curses, and they resist divine breakthrough unless specifically addressed through prayer, deliverance, repentance, and the Word of God.

For example we will see some evil trait in the generation of the grandparents like poverty, barrenness, particular sickness like fibroid, heart problem, dying young or termination at the point of breakthrough; also in the life of the parent to their children, sometimes to the third, fourth or even fifth generation.

They are often:

Inherited (through generational curses or ancestral covenants),

Induced (by sin, trauma, or occult involvement), or

Reinforced (by demonic activity and spiritual ignorance).

Key Characteristics of Evil Patterns:

Repetition: The same negative event happens over and over (e.g., divorce in every generation).

Persistence: It continues despite prayer, effort, or hard work.

Family-wide: Often affects multiple members across generations.

Spiritual Resistance: Natural solutions don’t seem to work; spiritual intervention is required.

These evil patterns are spiritually rooted negative cycle that keeps a person or family bound to frustration, failure, or destruction, until it is broken by repentance, prayer, deliverance, and faith in Christ. We have to engage the anointing that break yokes and lift off burden [Isa. 10:27]

Examples of Evil Patterns in the Life of Believers:

Here are some common evil patterns that may be found in the lives of believers:

Stagnation and Delay

Constant hindrances in life progress, no matter the effort, nothing moves forward. It is a stand still.

For example, always being on the verge of success but never quite reaching it.

Near Success Syndrome (NSS)

Always almost succeeding, but something always stops it at the last moment. This is also called termination at the point of breakthrough.

Repeated Failure

Continual failure in exams, business, relationships, or spiritual goals despite preparation or effort. You see people way below you or peer group continually progressing and you are not only stand still but retrogressing.

Marital Problems or Delays

Chronic singleness, broken engagements, or repeated marital conflicts without clear cause. Such conflicts negate agreement between spouses and negate getting answers to prayer requests from the Throne Room of Grace. You just see that you and spouse always quarreling especially at the point of breakthrough.

Family or Generational Curses

Patterns of sickness, poverty, or broken marriages that affect multiple generations and showing forth its ugly head in your generation. When you look at your family, you will see a lot of brothers and sisters going through such evil cycle or pattern. Some have covenants with idols or family shrines and their allegiance to them must be broken.

Recurring Sickness

Inexplicable or hereditary illnesses that resist medical or spiritual interventions. Many diseases like arthritis, rheumatism, diabetes, even malaria keep showing their ugly head from one generation to another.

Addiction or Compulsive Sin

Inability to break free from sinful habits that is common among brethren in a family circle (e.g., pornography, lying, anger, substance abuse, sexual immortality).

Backwardness despite hard work

Putting in much effort but seeing no result, or even losing ground. You do very well what others are doing but there is no good result to show for your all your efforts.

Financial Hardship

Continual poverty, lack, and want, or inability to manage or keep money despite good income.

Dream Attacks

Regularly having disturbing dreams, such as eating in the dream, sexual encounters, being chased, or returning to old places.

These are demonic intrusions to take you back or retrogress to where you have left years back and to invoke the spirit and occurrences of those days upon you. You must break these by violent spiritual warfare.

Premature death

A pattern of early or untimely deaths in the family. These may not just be family members dying young, but even businesses dying when all others are excelling.

Barrenness or Reproductive Challenges

Difficulty in conceiving without a medical explanation or repeated miscarriages. All medical tests show that both husband and wife are well, but no child. Even some did IVF, which causes many to get pregnant and bear children, but yours have failed severely. How about everybody is profiting in your chosen vocation or business, but yours is barren?

Mental Torment or Depression. Ongoing heaviness, confusion, or mental instability that resists spiritual help. Some seek medical help for a spiritual matter, and even become addicted to drugs that are narcotic or addictive. Examples are alcoholic lazed liquid medicine, barbiturates, and sedatives; depressants include lethargy, lack of concentration, and excessive sleeping, and tranquilizers is extremely dangerous and can be fatal.

Rejection and Hatred

Unexplained dislike or opposition from others, especially in critical moments, even people you have helped in the past, and family members will close their bowels of mercy unto you. You become stigmatized.

Spiritual Lukewarmness or Apathy

A pattern of falling away from God after spiritual highs or difficulty sustaining a strong spiritual life. Demonic powers negatively affecting your standing strong on the Lord's side, so you can be a mincemeat when they come against you like a flood. Or you lack the fervency or dogged zeal to pursue until you break through. You are one of those who sings La cera cera, what will be, will be, and the time of your visitation passes by you and you lose out.

What to Do About Evil Patterns:

Repentance: Break any legal ground the enemy may be using (e.g., sin, unforgiveness, occult involvement). Confess and forsake them.

Deliverance Prayers: Seek or engage in spiritual warfare and deliverance prayers.

Confession of the Word: Declare scriptures against curses and evil cycles (e.g., Galatians 3:13–14).

Fasting and Prayer: Isaiah 58 shows fasting breaks chains. Jesus Christ said these ones do not go out except by praying and fasting.

Break Ungodly Covenants: Renounce ancestral or personal agreements made knowingly or unknowingly.

Scriptural Backing:

"Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law..." (Galatians 3:13)

"If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed." (John 8:36)

"For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds." (2 Corinthians 10:4)

“Our fathers sinned and are no more, but we bear their iniquities.” Lamentations 5:7

“…visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generation…”Exodus 20:5

..........

Examples of evil patterns in the life of children of God in the bible

Here are biblical examples of evil patterns that appeared in the lives of God's children. These patterns often resulted from sin, disobedience, curses, or demonic manipulation, and in many cases, they persisted across generations until deliberately addressed.

1. Abraham's Family – Pattern of Lying

Pattern: Repeating the same sin of deception.

Abraham lied about Sarah being his sister (Genesis 12:10–20).

Isaac, his son, repeated the same lie about Rebekah (Genesis 26:7).

Jacob, Isaac's son, was known for deception (Genesis 27).

Evil pattern: Generational lying and deceit.

2. David’s Household – Sexual Sin and Violence

Pattern: Sexual immorality and bloodshed.

David committed adultery with Bathsheba and orchestrated Uriah’s murder (2 Samuel 11).

His son Amnon raped his half-sister Tamar (2 Samuel 13).

Absalom killed Amnon and later led a rebellion, even publicly disgracing David’s concubines (2 Samuel 16:22).

Evil pattern: Immorality and family violence.

  3. Eli’s Family – Ministerial Failure and Rebellion

Pattern: Disregard for God in priestly service.

Eli’s sons, Hophni and Phinehas, were corrupt priests who dishonored God’s sanctuary (1 Samuel 2:12–17).

Eli, their father, failed to correct them.

God judged the entire lineage, ending the priesthood in Eli's house.

Evil pattern: Generational ministerial failure and divine judgment.

4. The Israelites – Cycle of Rebellion

Pattern: Disobedience → Bondage → Cry to God → Deliverance → Repeat.

Throughout the book of Judges, Israel repeatedly sinned, got oppressed, and cried for deliverance.

God raised judges like Deborah, Gideon, and Samson to rescue them, but they always reverted.

Evil pattern: Spiritual inconsistency and rebellion.

5. The Kings of Israel - Idolatry

Pattern: Repeated idolatry among Israel’s kings.

Jeroboam led Israel into idolatry (1 Kings 12:28–30).

Many kings after him followed the same path, provoking God’s anger.

Evil pattern: National and leadership-level idolatry.

6. Saul – Disobedience and Rejection

Pattern: Insecurity and rebellion.

King Saul disobeyed God’s commands (1 Samuel 13 & 15).

Despite chances to repent, he continued in pride and ended consulting a medium (1 Samuel 28).

Evil pattern: Pride, rebellion, and eventual destruction.

7. Judas Iscariot – Greed and Betrayal

Pattern: Love for money leading to destruction.

Judas was a disciple yet secretly stole from the money bag (John 12:6).

His greed led to betraying Jesus for 30 pieces of silver (Matthew 26:14–16).

Demas forsook Paul and betrayed his trust in him. He loved the world and departed to Thessalonica

Evil pattern: Secret sin growing into open betrayal and loving the world.

Key Lessons:

Evil patterns often start small but grow unchecked.

They can be inherited, learned, or chosen.

They require deliberate spiritual confrontation (repentance, deliverance, and obedience to God).

Good News: No matter the pattern, Jesus came to break every yoke.

“For this purpose, the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.” — 1 John 3:8.

........

Examples in scripture where evil pattern was dealt with, overcome or rendered ineffective

Here are examples in Scripture where evil patterns were confronted, broken, or rendered ineffective, showing that with God’s power, cycles of sin, bondage, or generational issues can be overcome.

1. Jabez – Breaking the Pattern of Pain

Text: 1 Chronicles 4:9, 10

"Jabez was more honorable than his brothers. His mother had named him Jabez, saying, 'I gave birth to him in pain.'"

Problem: Jabez's name meant "pain, sorrow, no good" Which is a prophetic marker of an evil pattern that could define his destiny.

VIOLENT PRAYER KNOCKS DOWN DEMONIC FORCES

He cried out to God:

"Oh, that You would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let Your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain."

Result:

"And God granted his request."

Evil pattern (pain and limitation) was broken through prayer.

2. Manasseh – Breaking Generational Idolatry

Text: 2 Chronicles 33:1–16

Problem: Manasseh (son of Hezekiah) led Judah into extreme idolatry, even setting up altars in the temple of the Lord—continuing the evil his grandfather (Ahaz) had started.

Turning Point: After being captured by the Assyrians and taken to Babylon, he humbled himself and prayed to God.

Result:

"God was moved by his entreaty... and brought him back to Jerusalem."

Manasseh removed the idols and restored true worship.

Repentance broke the evil pattern of idolatry and rebellion.

3. Gideon – Overcoming the Family Curse of Idolatry

Text: Judges 6:25–32

Problem: Gideon's family and town worshiped Baal, and this idolatry brought Israel under Midianite oppression.

Action: God instructed Gideon to destroy his father's altar to Baal and cut down the Asherah pole.

Result: Though opposed, Gideon obeyed, and it marked the beginning of Israel's deliverance from Midian.

Obedience to God broke a national and family pattern of idolatry.

Many of us are in league with our fathers house and even sow into their idolatrous works, such agreement make us to partake of the evil consequences that come upon them.

4. Hezekiah – Breaking the Pattern of Rebellion and Pagan Worship

Text: 2 Kings 18:1–6

Problem: His father, King Ahaz, had led Judah deeply into idolatry and closed the temple.

Action: Hezekiah reopened the temple, destroyed pagan altars, and trusted fully in the Lord.

Result:

"There was no one like him among all the kings of Judah... he held fast to the Lord."

Hezekiah broke the evil pattern of his father and restored national worship.

Our dogged tenacity to serve the Lord and stay on the Lord's side is a weapon to be reckoned with in setting us apart from the evil pattern.

5. Jesus and the Woman with the Issue of Blood

Text: Mark 5:25–34

Problem: The woman had a 12-year cycle of sickness and suffering, spent all her money, and grew worse.

Action: She broke the pattern by reaching out in faith to touch Jesus' garment.

Result:

"Immediately, her bleeding stopped... and Jesus said, 'Your faith has made you well.'"

A long-standing affliction was broken by an act of faith.

Without faith it is impossible to please the Lord, it is a checkmate against evil patterns.

6. The Cross of Jesus – Breaking All Curses

Text: Galatians 3:13, 14

“Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us...”

Result: The death and resurrection of Jesus broke the power of sin, death, and all curses—including generational and personal evil patterns.

Through Christ, every evil pattern can be rendered powerless.

This will work only if we have that knowledge, belief in what it proclaimed and we are not in league with the evil forces.

WHAT CHECKMATE THE EVIL PATTERN

Every evil pattern, whether inherited, learned, or demonically injected into us can be broken.

According to biblical teachings, several factors can help checkmate evil patterns and occurrences in the lives of believers:

1. Repentance and obedience (Acts 3:19)

2. Prayer: Regular, fervent prayer can help believers overcome evil influences (Ephesians 6:18, Philippians 4:6). This must be accompanied by fasting (Mark 9:29)

3. Spiritual armor: Putting on the whole armor of God, as described in Ephesians 6:10-18, can protect believers from evil attacks.

4. Faith in Christ and His finished work (Colossians 2:14–15)

5. Spiritual warfare (Ephesians 6:10–18)

Using the artillery of God's Word

1. Scripture: Meditating on and applying biblical truths can help believers resist evil (Psalm 119:9-11, Hebrews 4:12).

2. Truth: Knowing and applying God's truth can help believers discern and overcome evil (John 8:32, 2 Corinthians 13:8).

Faith and Trust:

1. Trust in God: Trusting in God's sovereignty and goodness can help believers overcome fear and doubt (Proverbs 3:5-6, Isaiah 26:3).

2. Faith: Exercising faith in God's power and promises can help believers resist evil (Hebrews 11:6, James 2:14-26).

Community and Accountability:

1. Fellowship: Being part of a community of believers can provide support and accountability (Hebrews 10:24-25, Galatians 6:2).

2. Accountability: Having spiritual mentors or accountability partners can help believers stay on track and resist evil (Proverbs 27:9, James 5:16).

Personal Holiness:

1. Obedience: Obeying God's commands and living a life of obedience can help believers resist evil (John 14:15, 1 John 2:3-6).

2. Purity: Pursuing personal holiness and purity can help believers overcome evil influences (1 Thessalonians 4:7, 1 Peter 1:15-16).

By focusing on these areas, believers can develop a strong spiritual foundation to checkmate evil patterns and occurrences in their lives

Spiritual Warfare Guide To Break Evil Pattern

Instruments used here include scripture, targeted prayer, and spiritual principles. This approach engages your authority in Christ and aligns with biblical truth.

Spiritual Warfare against Evil Pattern

“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds.” – 2 Corinthians 10:4

1. Spiritual Preparation

Repentance: Start with sincere confession of sins, personal and ancestral (Daniel 9:4–5).

Forgiveness: Forgive anyone who has hurt you (Mark 11:25). Bitterness gives the enemy access. (Hen. 12:14-15)

Holiness: Commit to walking uprightly. Sin opens doors to repeated bondage.

2. Foundational Scriptures to Stand On

Galatians 3:13 — “Christ has redeemed us from the curse...”

Colossians 2:14, 15 — “He canceled the record of the charges... and disarmed the powers.”

Isaiah 10:27 — “The yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.”

Luke 10:19 — “I give you power... over all the power of the enemy.”

3. Warfare Prayers to Break Evil Patterns

You can pray these with fasting (Isaiah 58), especially over 3 or 7 days, depending on leading from the Holy Spirit.

PRAYER 1: Renunciation and Breakthrough

"In the name of Jesus, I renounce every inherited or self-imposed evil pattern operating in my life. I break every generational curse and covenant that has given legal access to evil cycles. I disconnect myself by the blood of Jesus!

PRAYER 2: Cancel Legal Grounds

"Father, I ask for mercy and cleansing. Every sin—personal or ancestral—that opened the door to these patterns, let the blood of Jesus wash them away. I revoke any evil dedication, oath, or agreement made on my behalf."

PRAYER 3: Declare Your Freedom

"By the authority of Jesus Christ, I command every evil pattern of delay, failure, sickness, rejection, and stagnation to break now! I declare that I am a new creation. The old has passed away. Every pattern contrary to God’s purpose is rendered powerless!"

PRAYER 4: Spiritual Weapons

"I bind every strongman enforcing these patterns in my life. I release Holy Ghost fire against every altar, covenant, or curse speaking against me. I lose myself from every chain, in Jesus’ name!"

PRAYER 5: Destiny Restoration

"Lord, restore every blessing, opportunity, relationship, or destiny moment I’ve lost due to evil patterns. I call forth divine restoration and acceleration. Let my life align with heaven’s agenda!"

4. Declarations of Victory (Daily)

Speak every morning and night:

“I am not cursed, I am blessed. The blood of Jesus sets me free.”

“No more delay, no more backwardness. My life moves forward!”

“Every evil cycle is broken. My generation will see the glory of God!”

“I walk in victory, healing, favor, and divine speed.”

5. Additional Spiritual Actions

Fasting: Especially during major prayer confrontations (Mark 9:29).

Anointing Oil: Symbolically destroy evil yokes (James 5:14, Isaiah 10:27).

Communion: Reinforces your covenant with Jesus and cancels evil covenants.

Altar of Praise: Praise God daily—it confuses the enemy (2 Chronicles 20:22).

Remember

“If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” – John 8:36

KINGS AND PRIESTS UNTO OUR GOD

KINGS AND PRIESTS UNTO OUR GOD

Text: Rev. 1:6, 5:10; 1 Pet. 2:9

CHRIST AS KING OF KINGS AND HIGH PRIEST

In the New Testament, Jesus was revealed not only as the Savior but also as the supreme King of Kings (Revelation 19:16) and eternal High Priest (Hebrews 4:14–16; 7:23–28).

As King, Jesus reigns with divine authority over all creation, fulfilling Old Testament prophecies about the Messiah who would rule with justice, righteousness, and everlasting peace (Isaiah 9:6–7).

Unlike earthly kings, His kingdom is not of this world (John 18:36) but is eternal and spiritual, established in the hearts of His people. He governs with authority, justice and dominion.

As High Priest, Jesus serves as the perfect mediator between God and humanity. Unlike the Levitical priests, He offered Himself as the final, once-for-all sacrifice for sin (Hebrews 10:12).

He continually intercedes for believers at the right hand of the Father, offering access to God through grace rather than ritual. His priesthood, in the order of Melchizedek, is eternal and unchanging (Hebrews 7:17).

Together, these roles affirm Jesus’ ultimate authority and His compassionate, redemptive ministry, ruling as sovereign King and serving as the ever-living Priest who intercedes for man and bring humanity into right relationship with God.

This relationship with Christ as kings and priests can be better explained from Romans 8:17, the reason we are joint-heirs with Christ is because even God the Father has made us heirs with Him.

All believers are children of God like Jesus, but He has a higher position as King of kings and High Priest, He is the firstborn and we are His brethren but as first born, He has a double portion of what we have like the senior brother of the prodigal son.

That is why Jesus left behind all the virtues that God gave Him on earth before ascending back to heaven [John 17:22]. Believers now has all that God gave Jesus including the glory to use on planet earth, but distributed to all His brethren who have been made kings and priests.

KINGS AND PRIESTS: OUR IDENTITY AND CALLING IN CHRIST

Text: Revelation 1:5–6, Revelation 5:10, 1 Peter 2:9

Believers are made kings and priests after the order of Christ. Many believers know Jesus as Savior, King of kings and High Priest; but few of them fully grasp their identity in Him as kings and priests unto our God. Scripture reveals that through Christ’s redemptive work, we are not only saved, we are made kings and priests unto God.

This is not symbolic; it is a spiritual reality with powerful implications for how we live and serve in the kingdom of God upon planet Earth. When Jesus Christ ascended to heaven, believers are to continue the kingship and priesthood work of Christ on planet earth.

Like Jesus we are supposed to establish justice, order, defend the kingdom of God and represent His rule on earth.

There are two kingdoms, the kingdom of heaven and the kingdom of this earth. The heaven of heavens belongs unto our God and He is the king of kings; the earth belongs unto the children of men who are kings and priests [Psa. 115:16].

Every king rule over a domain and have dominion and authority over that sphere. We have been made rulers over the earth realm and given back the rulership mandate over the earth realm whereby we reign over all beings in the sea, air and land [Gen. 1:28].

CHRIST, THE KING OF KINGS AND HIGH PRIEST

Text: Revelation 19:16; Hebrews 4:14–16

Before we understand our own identity, we must understand who Christ is, as King of Kings, Jesus reigns with absolute authority (Matthew 28:18). As High Priest, He intercedes forever (Hebrews 7:25), offering the final sacrifice, Himself. Christ unites royal authority and priestly service in perfect harmony. Through His victory over sin and death, He established a new covenant whereby believers share in His nature and calling.

WE ARE MADE KINGS AND PRIESTS

Text: Revelation 1:6, 5:10; 1 Peter 2:9; Exodus 19:6

Through Christ’s atonement on the cross, we were redeemed and positioned as kings and priests.

As kings, we are given spiritual authority. This means dominion over sin (Romans 6:14), boldness in prayer (Hebrews 4:16), and power to influence the world for God's Kingdom.

As priests, we minister to God and others. This includes prayer, worship, intercession, and living set apart and consecrated life. This is not a future promise alone, it is a present identity. “He has made us…” is past tense, indicating a completed act.

LIVING AS KINGS

We are given authority with humility and purpose. As kings, we reign in life through Christ (Romans 5:17), exercise spiritual authority by binding, loosing, and declaring God’s will (Matthew 18:18). We walk in boldness, not fear (2 Timothy 1:7). But unlike worldly kings, our rule is expressed through service, righteousness, and compassion (Mark 10:45).

Believers are the political, military and spiritual leaders of God’s kingdom on earth. We govern the people, enforce laws of His kingdom, ensure justice, protect the realm that we occupy from enemies, managing resources and maintaining order; and have jurisdiction over powers that be.

We must symbolize unity and authority. The first Adam was made the king and priest of Garden of Eden but this was lost through Adam but it was restored in Christ Jesus. Believers are now kings and Priests.

We have even ascended to the heavenly places to sit with Christ on His Throne [Eph. 2:6] and we partake in the council meeting in heaven where we hear the strategy of God to turn this earth realm into the kingdom of God and we come back to earth to implement that which the council has set as pattern with which we will build the kingdom of God on earth with.

Kings rule over the people. Kings do not only rule over subordinates, their words carry power, remember where the word of the king is, there is power [Eccl. 8:4]. Kings make decrees, have absolute power in their jurisdiction and subordinates go forth to make sure that the decrees of the kings are carried out.

King Darius and Cyrus both made decrees about rebuilding the temple in Jerusalem and it was carried out expressly [Ezra 6:1; Ezra 1:2-4]. Even king Nebuchadnezzar made decree in Babylon and it was carried out [Daniel 3:29, 4:1-18].

Kings do not lack. He has vast properties, wealth and riches; and have many subjects and slaves who work for Him. He gets the best of the spoils of war. The subjected kingdoms and their people are taken over as spoil of war and they pay royalties to the king. Remember Solomon, even the queen of Sheba came and gave unto Solomon. They have authority over many subjects including principalities and powers, both physically and spiritually speaking.

Kings even in the bible engage in warfare with enemies and they synergize with other kings so that they can be a formidable force to win the war. Sometimes as many as five kings with their army join forces to fight the enemy.

Even now in Eph. 6:10-12 we wrestle against principalities and powers, dominions and rulers of darkness and we supposed to join forces together to put them to flight. Remember one shall chase a thousand and two shall chase ten thousand. We must engage spiritual weapons to fight spiritual enemies.

“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)” 2 Cor. 10:3-4

However, we have the assurance that we will win the battle because the king of kings and innumerable numbers of angels are backing us up in battle.

LIVING AS PRIESTS

This expresses our service and ministry before God and for others. As priests, we offer spiritual sacrifices (1 Peter 2:5) through praise, obedience, thanksgiving, and present their bodies as holy, living sacrifice (Romans 12:1); and we stand in the gap through prayer and intercession (Ezekiel 22:30; Heb. 5:1).

We proclaim the Gospel as ministers of reconciliation (2 Cor. 5:18–20). The priesthood is not just for pastors, every believer has access to the presence of God and has a ministry calling.

As priests we are responsible for spiritual guidance, conducting worship and spiritual rituals, offering prayers and sacrifices, teaching morals and religious principles, and serving as intermediary between the people and the divine God. Priests guides the spiritual lives of the people.

Priests often encounter the supernatural either by seeing and talking with God or His angels. In Luke 1:18-25, Zechariah a priest went in to burn incense in the temple and encounter Angel Gabriel. I make bold to say God is still using the ministry of angels to minister to priests. Heb. 1:14 said angels are ministering spirits, sent forth to help or minister to us, the heir of salvation.

“And it shall be unto them for an inheritance: I am their inheritance: and ye shall give them no possession in Israel: I am their possession” Ezek. 44:28

The priests, the Levites, sons of Zadok are the ones that God said He is their inheritance, meaning all that were to accrue to Him on earth including the tithe, first fruits, and offerings are to be the possession of the priests.

Their work requires consecration and being set apart unto the Lord and so God take it as a responsibility to supply all their need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus, so that they can concentrate on doing their work without distraction.

Priests have access to come boldly before the Throne Room of Grace where we can obtain mercy and find grace to help in the time of need [Heb. 4:16]. Priests bring down the glory of God when they have done things according to the specification of God.

Moses and Solomon built according to pattern and the glory of God came down such that the priests could not minister in the sanctuary.

A ROYAL PRIESTHOOD WITH PURPOSE

“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.”1 Peter 2:9

God made us kings and priests not for status, but for purpose, to show forth His glory, minister His grace, and extend His Kingdom on earth. Please note that priests have been removed from darkness, we are now in the kingdom of light.

We are not powerless believers. We are kings with spiritual authority and priests with divine access and ministry. We live with the confidence, responsibility, and purpose that come from this God-given identity. We must let the world see the light of the King of kings and High Priest who lives in us that is Jesus Christ.

We must embrace our identity and begin to walk in spiritual authority and priestly service. We must minister to the unbelievers to come to the King of kings who redeems and restores, making them part of His royal priesthood

Believers dominate, rule over and subject every other being and we have restored to us communion and fellowship with the Godhead through the ministry of the Holy Spirit.

DUTIES OF KINGS AND PRIESTS

Below stated are the biblical duties of kings and priests, both in the Old Testament and as fulfilled in Christ, and now shared by believers today as part of their spiritual identity.

DUTIES OF KINGS

Biblical kings ruled under God's authority and served as shepherds of the people. Believers, as spiritual kings, are called to similar functions in the Kingdom of God. Kings do not lack, they have abundance of wealth, wisdom, knowledge and power. We have everything that pertains to life and godliness. [2 Peter 1:2-4]

1. Exercise Righteous Rule

Kings were expected to uphold justice and righteousness. … We are kings and priests and Christ has made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall REIGN on the earth. [Rev. 5:10]

Scripture: Proverbs 16:12, 2 Samuel 8:15

Believers today are to make decisions that reflect God’s righteousness.

2. Lead with Wisdom and Integrity

Solomon asked for wisdom to govern God’s people (1 Kings 3:9). Believers must seek divine wisdom in leadership, family, and ministry.

3. Defend and Protect the Kingdom

Kings led battles and protected the nation (2 Chronicles 20:15–17). Spiritually, we wage warfare through prayer and truth against principalities and power, and demonic rulers (Ephesians 6:10–18).

4. Advance God’s Kingdom

Kings expanded and strengthened the territory. Believers evangelize and disciple to expand the reign of Christ on earth and make this earth realm to become the kingdom of our God.

5. Model Godly Character

A righteous king brought blessing; a wicked one brought destruction. [Proverbs 29:2]

Believers reflect Christ’s character in every sphere of life and continue to be transformed into His image from one level of glory unto another [2 Cor. 3:18]. The fruit of the Spirit must be paramount in their lives [Gal. 5:22-24].

It is an abomination to kings [and even priests] to do evil, for the throne is established by righteousness [Prov. 16:12 ESV]

DUTIES OF PRIESTS

Old Testament priests mediated between God and the people. In Christ, every believer is called to priestly service. Priests do not lack! The people of God bring all the offering unto the tribe of Levi and Levi do not lack. God told the Levites; I am your inheritance! [Num. 18:20]

1. Offer Sacrifices

Old Testament priests offered animal sacrifices (Leviticus 1–7). But believers offer spiritual sacrifices including praise (Hebrews 13:15), our bodies/lives (Romans 12:1) and good works and generosity (Hebrews 13:16).

2. Intercede for Others

Priests prayed for the people and sought God’s mercy on their behalf (Exodus 28:29–30). Believers as priests are called to intercessory prayer (1 Tim. 2:1; Ezek. 22:30).

3. Teach and Preserve God’s Word

Priests taught the Law for example Ezra (Ezra 7:6-12; Malachi 2:7). Believers are called to share the Word, make disciples, uphold truth, prepare the people of God for the second coming of Christ [Matt. 28:18-20].

4. Minister in God’s Presence

Priests served in the Tabernacle/Temple (Exodus 28:1–3). Believers have direct access to God through Christ (Hebrews 10:19–22) and are called to minister through worship, prayer, and service. They are the New Testament temple of God.

5. Maintain Holiness

Priests had strict purity requirements (Leviticus 10:8–11). Believers are to live holy lives (1 Peter 1:15–16), set apart for God. We are a HOLY nation [1 Peter 2:9]. We must be holy so we do not become like Nadab and Abihu sons of Aaron who offered strange fire before God and were consumed.

Priests have access and intimacy with God. In Heb. 1:9, we see Jesus, who was righteous and greater anointing was bestowed upon Him, for He hated iniquity.

Kings in New Testament, rule righteously, lead, protect, expand kingdom and reign in life, and have spiritual authority (Rom 5:17). As priests, we offer sacrifices, intercede, teach, worship, offer praise, pray, teach, and live holy (1 Pet 2:9)

POWER AND BLESSINGS OF BELIEVERS AS KINGS AND PRIESTS

Key Texts: Revelation 1:6, 5:10; 1 Peter 2:9; Romans 5:17; Ephesians 1:3

Believers as kings and priests are laden with spiritual power. Among other things they have…

1. Authority to Reign in Life

“...those who receive abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness will REIGN in life through the One, Jesus Christ.” Romans 5:17

Believers have power over sin, fear, oppression, and darkness through Christ. We exercise dominion by declaring God’s Word, standing in faith, and advancing His Kingdom.

2. Access to God’s Throne

“Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace…” Hebrews 4:16

As priests, we have direct, unhindered access to God for fellowship, prayer, and spiritual authority.

3. Power in Prayer and Intercession

“The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.” James 5:16

Priestly intercession shifts atmospheres, heals the sick, and brings breakthrough.

4. Anointing to Minister and Serve

We are chosen to declare God’s praises and represent Him on earth. [1 Peter 2:9]

Every believer is empowered by the Holy Spirit [Acts 1:8] and serve with boldness and spiritual gifts (1 Cor. 12:4–7).

5. Victory in Spiritual Warfare

“I have given you authority... over all the power of the enemy…” Luke 10:19

Kings engage in spiritual battles and win through faith, the Word, and the blood of Jesus (Revelation 12:11).

WHY SOME CALLED INTO THESE OFFICES DO NOT FULFILL THERE CALLING

There are many reasons why we do not enjoy our kingship and priesthood roles, one, we are ignorant of who we are by knowing God and what He make us to become in Him. [Dan. 11:32]. Such that knows God and knows who they are in Him do heroic acts or exploits like David killed lion and bear, Samson killed lion with bare hands or Abraham fought a conglomerate of five kings with their army and won fighting with only 318 trained servants.

Elijah in James 5:16 knew who he was and exercise authority by inhibiting rain to fall for three and half years. We must not lack identity awareness of we really are as ordained by the Father in heaven. Let it not be said to us “My people are destroyed because of lack of knowledge [Hosea 4:6]

One other reason why believers do not manifest as kings and priests is that we do not walk in holiness by building up on our consecration. Jesus loved righteousness and walked in holiness and He was anointed above His fellows [Heb. 1:9; Psa. 93:5].

When Aaron and sons were consecrated unto God as priests, a turban with holiness unto our God written upon it was put on head and were cleansed and purged with water just as we are to be washed by the washing of the water by the word of God [Eph. 5:26].

Such are circumcised in heart, spiritually clean, not polluted nor living a blameful life. The highway to Mount Zion is called “Way of Holiness” [Isa. 35:8] and we must have clean hands and pure heart. [Psalm 24:3-4, 15:1-6].

We as the bride of the Lord must be arrayed in white and clean raiment [Rev. 19:8]. Believers are the New Testament temple of the Lord that must be most holy [Ezek. 43:12].

We must depart all that will cause pollution or contaminate us. For example, no root of bitterness by which many are desecrated [Heb. 12:14-16]

“Depart ye, depart ye, go ye out from thence, touch no unclean thing; go ye out of the midst of her; be ye clean, that bear the vessels of the LORD” Isa. 52:11

We are set apart for sacred purposes, leading us to a place of dwelling or living a life of purpose and significance, holy and consecrated unto our God. Even Peter looked at the royal priests and called them a holy nation [1 Peter 2:9].

Other reason why we do not operate effectively in this office is because of fear, doubt, insecurity and intimidation. However, we must know that God has not given us the spirit of fear but of power, love and sound mind [2 Tim. 1:7].

Sin can hinder spiritual authority especially when kings and priests walk in compromise, their authority is weakened, A defiled altar or a corrupted throne cannot carry God’s power [1 Peter 1:16].

Some do not fulfill this calling because they lack the appropriate training or discipleship that operating in the office of a king by governing, leading or taking dominion or as a priest by interceding, ministering to God and unto His people.

The bible is full of disciples who were properly trained, best example are the twelve disciples of Jesus Christ who trained them for three and half years and they eventually became apostles. Time will not permit to do an exegesis on Elijah and Elisha; Paul, Timothy, Silas, and Apollos; Moses and Joshua the son of Nun.

There are some Church protocol, politics, doctrines and system and mindset that suppresses or block certain people from fulfilling their calling or embracing their-God given authority. Disobedience and rebellion are part of what stop some people from fulfilling this calling.

Saul the king lost his kingship because he disobeyed God [1 Sam. 15]. Some shoot out of the timing set by God or lingered back when the time to operate in their calling has come. David had to wait about thirteen years for the process of his calling to be complete.

BLESSINGS OF BEING KINGS AND PRIESTS

1. Adoption into Royal Identity

“You are no longer a slave, but a son… an heir of God.” Galatians 4:7

Believers are royalty, not by birthright, but by grace. Our spiritual inheritance includes peace, power, and purpose.

2. Spiritual Riches in Christ

“Blessed with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places…” Ephesians 1:3

We are equipped for every good work and never lacking in what we need to fulfill God’s call. These are not temporary, earthly benefits or worldly wealth. Believers are chosen by election [Eph. 1:4], adopted into the family of God [Eph. 1:5] and given all the rights and privileges of God’s children. We are redeemed and forgiven [Eph. 1:7], given revelation of God’s will [Eph. 1:9-10] and in Christ we have been given an inheritance [Eph. 1:11, 14].

Lastly here we have been sealed with the Holy Spirit [Eph. 1:13-14] who now enlightened us through the spirit of wisdom and revelation that we may know those things that are freely given to us [Eph. 1:17; 1 Cor. 2:12]

3. Priestly Fellowship and Holiness

We are set apart for intimate communion with God (Exodus 19:6; Hebrews 10:22). Holiness is both a command and a blessing, it draws us nearer to God and we reflect His nature.

4. Kingdom Impact and Eternal Reward

“We shall reign on the earth.” Revelation 5:10

Our faithful service now leads to reward and rulership, even in this age. (2 Timothy 2:12; Matthew 25:21).

Believers are not powerless or purposeless. As kings and priests, we walk in authority, intimacy, and assignment. We reign with Christ over darkness and minister to God and others with grace and power. This is our inheritance and our calling

RESTORED DOMINION: THE KINGLY AND THE PRIESTLY ROLE OF ADAM RESTORED TO BELIEVERS

Key Texts: Genesis 1:26–28; Revelation 1:5–6; 1 Peter 2:9; Romans 5:17; Hebrews 4:14–16

When God created Adam, He endowed him with two powerful spiritual roles: king to reign in the garden of Eden, and priest to commune with God. Through sin, Adam lost both roles.

But through Jesus Christ, the Last Adam, these offices have been fully restored to all who believe. As New Testament believers, we are restored to dominion and fellowship, and commissioned to function again as kings and priests unto God.

ADAM’S ORIGINAL ROLE: KING AND PRIEST

1. Kingly Dominion (Genesis 1:26–28)

Adam was given rulership over the earth, to subdue, govern, and multiply. His authority was spiritual and natural: he named the animals, tended Eden, and exercised divine stewardship.

2. Priestly Fellowship (Genesis 3:8). Adam walked in intimate fellowship with God in the cool of the day.

His role was also priestly: standing in God’s presence, guarding sacred space (Eden), and leading creation in worship.

THE FALL AND LOSS OF AUTHORITY AND FELLOWSHIP

Sin broke Adam’s authority and access to God. He was driven from God’s presence (Genesis 3:23–24). The ground resisted his rulership (Genesis 3:17–19). Satan usurped dominion (Luke 4:6), and humanity lost both kingly rule and priestly access. Thank God, Jesus Christ, the last Adam restores the kingship and priesthood

1. Christ restores kingship (Romans 5:17; Revelation 19:16). Jesus defeated Satan, reclaimed authority, and now reigns as King of Kings. Believers reign with Him, not in worldly power but in spiritual dominion over sin, fear, and darkness.

2. Christ Restores Priesthood (Hebrews 4:14–16; 10:19–22)

Jesus became our High Priest, offering His own blood to open the way back into God’s presence. Now every believer has full access to God, able to intercede, worship, and live in communion with Him.

BELIEVERS RESTORATION AS KINGS AND PRIESTS IN CHRIST

“He has made us kings and priests unto God…” Revelation 1:6

As Restored Kings, we reign in life (Romans 5:17), exercise spiritual authority (Luke 10:19), and advance the Kingdom through faith and obedience.

As Restored Priests: We offer spiritual sacrifices (1 Peter 2:5), intercede for others (1 Timothy 2:1–4) and live holy lives and minister to God (Romans 12:1)

The Purpose of Restoration

To reflect God’s image again on the earth (2 Corinthians 3:18), fulfill the original mandate to fill, subdue, and steward creation, to proclaim His praises and serve as His representatives (1 Peter 2:9), and to prepare for eternal rule with Christ in His Kingdom (Revelation 5:10; 2 Timothy 2:12)

What Adam lost in the Garden of Eden; Christ restored through the Cross. In Him, we are no longer fallen, but restored rulers and ministers, called to reign in righteousness and minister in holiness. We must embrace our identity in Christ and walk as a king with authority and as a priest with access to the Throne Room.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF NEW TESTAMENT KINGS AND PRIESTS

In the New Testament, believers are described as both kings and priests (see Revelation 1:6, 5:10, 1 Peter 2:9). This is a spiritual designation rooted in the Old Testament but fulfilled and transformed in Christ. Here are the primary responsibilities associated with being a king and a priest in the New Testament context:

Responsibilities of New Testament Kings

These refer to the believer’s spiritual authority and dominion in Christ.

Rule with Christ:

Believers are called to reign with Christ spiritually (Romans 5:17; Revelation 20:6), exercising authority over sin, darkness, and demonic forces through faith and obedience.

Advance God's Kingdom:

As spiritual kings, believers are tasked with expanding God's rule on earth through evangelism, discipleship, justice, and good works (Matthew 28:19-20).

Walk in Authority:

Operate with the authority Jesus gave over spiritual opposition (Luke 10:19; Ephesians 2:6).

Govern Their Lives and Families:

Exercise godly leadership in their personal lives, homes, and communities (1 Timothy 3:4-5).

Responsibilities of New Testament Priests

These focus on worship, intercession, and service to God and others.

Offer Spiritual Sacrifices:

Instead of animal offerings, believers offer their bodies, praise, good deeds, and prayers (Romans 12:1; Hebrews 13:15-16; 1 Peter 2:5).

Intercede for Others:

Priests mediate between God and people through prayer (1 Timothy 2:1-2; James 5:16).

Minister in God’s Presence:

Enter God's presence boldly through Christ and worship Him (Hebrews 10:19-22).

Teach and Declare God’s Truth:

As a "royal priesthood," believers are called to proclaim God's excellencies (1 Peter 2:9).

Live Holy Lives:

Holiness is essential for those serving as priests (1 Peter 1:15-16), reflecting God's nature.

Kingship: Authority, leadership, and dominion in the spiritual realm.

Priesthood: Worship, intercession, and representing God to others.

This dual role highlights the believer's calling to both rule and serve, reflecting the nature of Jesus as both King and High Priest (Hebrews 4:14–16; Revelation 19:16).

MEN IN SCRIPTURES WHO FULFILLED THEIR ROLES AS KINGS AND PRIESTS

There are men in scriptures who fulfilled their roles as kings and priests, some literally, others typologically or spiritually. These examples demonstrate how God’s design for dominion (kingly rule) and worship (priestly service) was fulfilled in individuals across the biblical narrative.

1. Adam (Genesis 1–2)

Role: Prototype of both king and priest

Kingly role: Given dominion over the earth (Genesis 1:26–28)

Priestly role: Walked in fellowship with God and kept Eden, a sacred space (Genesis 2:15)

Though Adam failed, he represented God’s original intent for mankind.

2. Melchizedek (Genesis 14:18–20; Hebrews 7:1–3)

Role: King-Priest

King of Salem and Priest of God Most High

Blessed Abraham and received tithes

A type of Christ, who is a priest forever in the order of Melchizedek (Psalm 110:4; Hebrews 5:6)

3. David (1 Samuel 16 – 2 Samuel 24)

Role: King with priestly attributes

Anointed king of Israel

Wore priestly garments (2 Samuel 6:14) and offered sacrifices (not out of rebellion, but worship)

Wrote Psalms and organized Levitical worship—pointing to Christ as the true King-Priest

4. Samuel (1 Samuel 1–25)

Role: Priest, prophet, and judge (leader)

Raised in the Tabernacle under Eli

Offered sacrifices and heard from God

Led the people with authority, combining priestly and kingly functions

5. New Testament Believers (1 Peter 2:9; Revelation 1:6, 5:10)

Role: Restored kings and priests in Christ

Called to reign in life and intercede before God

Represent Christ’s rule and presence on earth through righteousness and spiritual service

NEW TESTAMENT SAINTS WHO WALKED AS KINGS AND PRIESTS

Yes, New Testament believers are called and empowered to walk as kings and priests, and there are examples in Scripture of individuals and the early Church functioning in these roles, even if not by title.

The Church as a Whole: Kings and Priests

1. Revelation 1:6, 5:10

“[Jesus] has made us kings and priests to His God and Father...”

This is not just future tense; it is present spiritual reality. The early Church functioned with authority (kingly) and worship/service (priestly) roles, demonstrating this identity in practice.

II. New Testament Examples of Believers Walking in Kingly and Priestly Roles

1. The Apostles (e.g., Peter, Paul, John)

Priestly role: Offered spiritual sacrifices—worship, intercession, and ministry (Acts 3:1; Romans 15:16).. Preached the Gospel, leading people into reconciliation with God (2 Corinthians 5:20).

Kingly role: Exercised authority in spiritual warfare (Acts 16:18), healing (Acts 3:6–8), and church leadership (Acts 15). Paul wrote that we “reign in life” through Christ (Romans 5:17).

2. Stephen (Acts 6–7)

Priestly role: Full of faith and the Holy Spirit, served tables (ministry), and preached boldly.

Kingly role: Demonstrated divine authority with miracles (Acts 6:8), wisdom, and courage even unto death.

3. Philip the Evangelist (Acts 8)

Priestly: Preached Christ, baptized believers (spiritual service).

Kingly: Moved with Holy Spirit authority and performed miracles, signs, and strategic impact (Acts 8:6–7, 26–40).

III. Early Church Believers as a Royal Priesthood (1 Peter 2:9)

“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood...”

Every believer had access to God (priesthood) and authority to walk in the power of the Spirit (kingship).

They operated in gifts of the Spirit (1 Corinthians 12), prayed boldly (Acts 4:31), and lived holy lives in hostile cultures—both kingly and priestly expressions.

There are New Testament believers Who walked as kings and priests. While they weren’t called by those titles directly, their lives clearly reflected both roles:

Kingly: Exercising dominion, spiritual authority, bold leadership, and Kingdom advancement

Priestly: Living in communion with God, offering worship, interceding, ministering to others

Today, every believer is called to walk in that same identity—just as they did in the early Church. We must know who are to inherit the blessings of sonship.

The prodigal son collected his share as sons but his senior brother does not know his inheritance or that he has double what the junior brother has [Luke 15]
