       UNDERSTANDING AND BREAKING FAMILY CURSE

 

“The LORD is longsuffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression, and by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation” Numbers 14:18 

Family curses are reoccurring problems that steal, kill, and destroy even unto generations within a family. Scripture is clear God visits the iniquity of the fathers upon the children up to the third and fourth generation (Exodus 20:5). Curses don’t visit your family without cause [curse causeless shall not come [Prov. 26:2]. When someone up the family tree gives spirits the right to visit because of iniquity, sin and transgression; these violations bring curses down the family tree because of disobedience to the word of God; demons attached to the curse come looking for a reason to mess up your life. They are released when somebody breaks God’s sanctions.

There are habits found in the life of patriarch like David that could have been generational in nature like the sexual activities of David and two of his sons especially Absalom who slept with all the concubines of his father. You never know the anger in the life of Moses may have been generational or James and John who were called sons of thunder until the word of life from the mouth of Master Jesus delivered them. As there are generational blessings so do we have generational curses.

Be careful of sinful lifestyle! Ungodly fathers and rebellious children are digging a grave for their descendants. Cure for curse has always been repentance by confessing your sins and turning away from that ungodly or demonic lifestyle, faith in God and turning around to live a consecrated life that is pleasing unto the Lord. Always remember that God’s grace last a lifetime if we do away with our evil ways.

Blessings are released when we obey God’s command and curses or penalties are released when scriptural sanctions are broken, for example Cain was cursed for shedding innocent blood. Take courage. After family curses are exposed, Christ’s deliverance is readily available. Christ shed His blood for the redemption of sins and by His stripes we were healed.

You cannot choose your relatives any more than you can choose which family you come from, pigmentation of skin, gender either male or female, or race. Someone up the family tree could be the cause for a generational curse. A family curse is a payment or “recompense for iniquity.”

It is written, “Render unto them a recompense, O LORD, according to the work of their hands. Give them sorrow of heart, thy curse unto them. Persecute and destroy them in anger from under the heavens of the LORD” (Lamentations 3:64-66).

God is not the only one that can place a curse. Every genuine wrong done against a person can invoke the wrath of God or a curse from the aggrieved person. Noah cursed his younger son Ham after waking up from a drinking stupor because he looked at his Father’s nakedness … “Cursed be Canaan, a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren” [Gen. 9:20-25]; Noah’s word carried a high level spiritual authority and the curse was enacted. The same mouth that cursed with authority can also bless those who did right in his sight…

“And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant” [Gen. 9:26]. The wages of sin is death and so Noah just declared according to the wrong or the right that has been done. 

Bringing abominations, morally disgusting objects or idols into our homes will bring a curse. I remember a man from United States who travelled to Mexico and bought a big wood carving of a beggar and placed it conspicuously in his house and almost went bankrupt until a discerning minister of God saw the image and have to burn it and cast out the accompanying beggary spirit out of his home and business.

“The graven images of their gods shall ye burn with fire: thou shalt not desire the silver or gold that is on them, nor take it unto thee, lest thou be snared therein: for it is an abomination to the LORD thy God. Neither shalt thou bring an abomination into thine house, lest thou be a cursed thing like it: but thou shalt utterly detest it, and thou shalt utterly abhor it; for it is a cursed thing” Deut. 7:25-26

Many artifacts, carvings, jewelry, printings on T-Shirts, video games, occultist books, hairs that women buy and wear has been dedicated to idols, have invoked demonic spirits in them and are instruments of ensnaring innocent victims. Is that not why Paul have to burn the magician books collected at Ephesus.

“Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver. So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed” Act 19:19-20 

That was why Daniel refused to eat the King’s delicacies because it has been sacrificed unto idols and can entrap who ever eat them demonically? Was that not why the wife of Jacob that he loved “Rachel” died prematurely having stolen the idol of her father’s house [Laban] and did not confess even when a curse was placed on whoever stole it by her husband? Was that not why Israel cursed his first born Reuben having committed abomination by sleeping with his father’s wife?

We must not rebuild what God has destroyed or walk in line with what God has pronounced as evil else the yoke of bondage shall come upon the person. There are many under the influence of Jezebel Spirits as they have a mentor especially spiritual mothers who control their lives by manipulations or themselves operated sexual perverseness by magnetizing men to sleep with them after the manner of Jezebel wife of Ahab who painted her face and dress seductively to lead astray or lure gullible men and ensnare them, from such run away or flee.

Many that are proud are walking contrary to the word of the Lord which is “Be humble” and will be easily ensnared by the devil and his cohosts.

“Thou hast rebuked the proud that are cursed, which do err from thy commandments” Isaiah 119:21 

Many refused to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, they are proud, puffed up, arrogant, ensnared and are cursed having known the truth but they rather live a lie.

EFFECTS OF GENERATIONAL CURSES

Before you can break generational curses, we need to identify what they look like. Here is a partial list of family curses for your perusal. Having one of these in your life or family may not indicate a family curse, to have several “reoccurring” ones might. The help of the Holy Spirit is vital in identifying a family curse. As you read this list, ask Him to give you a spirit of revelation and truthfully accept whatever you know is negatively affecting you today so that your deliverance can be effected.

1. EMOTIONAL INSTABILITY, FEAR

“The LORD shall smite thee with madness, and blindness, and astonishment of heart.” (Deuteronomy 28:28)

The first curse we will discuss is emotional instability. Notice the Scripture above says the Lord will “smite with madness.” To be smitten with madness means insanity, craziness, foolishness, irrational behavior, and flakiness. He also uses the term “spiritual blindness.” This blindness releases confusion, indecision, and amazement.

If that’s not enough God follows that with “astonishment of heart” meaning a trembling, unsettled, and fearful heart.

Under this curse, one is easily overcome by emotions and fear. These trigger a person to make foolish decisions and do crazy self-destructive things. In this condition, a person has a continual inner struggle, internal warfare, and frustration.

Confusion and depression are two key indicators of this family curse. This curse teaches why some are double-minded and have problems ordering their lives with the Word of God and renewing their minds.

2. HEREDITARY FAMILY SICKNESSES

“The LORD shall make the pestilence cleave unto thee, until he have consumed thee from off the land, whither thou goes to possess it. The LORD shall smite thee with a consumption, and with a fever, and with an inflammation, and with an extreme burning, and with the sword, and with blasting, and with mildew; and they shall pursue thee until thou perish.” (Deuteronomy 28:21)

Some family sicknesses are reoccurring. Reoccurring is the indication of a family curse. Notice the terms “pestilence” and “consumption.”

This curse releases sicknesses of all kinds like fever, high blood pressure, or migraine headache. Consumption is a wasting lung disease, emphysema, and lung cancer. Lung cancer is the number three killer.

He also uses terms, “fever” and “inflammation.” These indicate a curse that is evidenced by arthritis. Inflammation of the brain leads to Alzheimer disease. Then we read the term “extreme burning.” Extreme burning means all sorts of strange fevers. Remember that Peter’s mother fever was of a demonic nature and Jesus Christ had to cast it out.

“And he arose out of the synagogue, and entered into Simon's house. And Simon's wife's mother was taken with a great fever; and they besought him for her. And he stood over her, and rebuked the fever; and it left her: and immediately she arose and ministered unto them” Luke 4:39 

THE BOTCH

“The LORD will smite thee with the botch of Egypt, and with hemorrhoids, and with the scab, and with the itch, of which thou canst not be healed.” (Deut. 28:27)

Botches are open sores or boils. These are experienced by those that have problems with wounds that will not heal. Scripture also says, “The LORD shall smite thee in the knees, and in the legs, with a sore botch that cannot be healed, from the sole of thy foot unto the top of thy head” (Deuteronomy 28:35). This curse attacks legs, soles of the feet and the top of one's head.

The Lord didn’t leave any diseases out of this curse. He declared, “Also every sickness, and every plague, which is not written in the book of this law, them will the LORD bring upon thee until thou be destroyed.” (Deuteronomy 28:61)

3. BARRENNESS, IMPOTENCE, FEMALE PROBLEMS

“Cursed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy land, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.” (Deuteronomy 28:18)

Perhaps you have heard menstrual problems know as “the curse.” Sometimes folklore comes from biblical tradition. Menstrual problems may be the result of a family curse. Scripture says, “Cursed shall be the fruit of thy body.” The word body, Hebrew “beten”, means womb, belly, or abdomen. The womb deals with reproduction. Signs of this curse are infections, hormone problems, menstrual problems, PMS, cramps, fibroids, painful sex, barrenness, miscarriages, cysts, tumors, bladder problems, kidney stones. Female problems plague millions of women. Men too can manifest this curse with erectile dysfunction and impotence.

4. FAMILY BREAKDOWNS, DIVORCE

This curse manifest in several ways including divorce, family divides, fights among relatives, families that scatter, no fellowship, jailed children, and estranged relationships.

“Thou shalt betroth a wife, and another man shall lie with her: thou shalt build a house, and thou shalt not dwell therein: thou shalt plant a vineyard, and shalt not gather the grapes thereof.” (Deuteronomy 28:30)

The divorce rate in America is 50 percent for first marriages, 67 percent for second marriages, and 74% for third marriages, according to the Forest Institute of Professional Psychology. In Japan, the divorce rate is 27 percent, Singapore 10 percent, and India 1 percent.

Children are also affected by this family curse.

“Thy sons and thy daughters shall be given unto another people, and thine eyes shall look, and fail with longing for them all the day long: and there shall be no might in thine hand.” (Deuteronomy 28:32)

“Thou shalt beget sons and daughters, but thou shalt not enjoy them; for they shall go into captivity.” (Deuteronomy 28:41)

The iniquities of the fathers are visited on the children. Here are the stats of family breakdowns affecting children:

5. LACK, POVERTY, INABILITY TO PRODUCE

“Cursed shall be thy basket and thy store (kneading trough).” (Deuteronomy 28:17)

“And thou shalt grope at noonday as the blind gropes in darkness, and thou shalt not prosper in thy ways: and thou shalt be only oppressed and spoiled evermore, and no man shall save thee.” (Deuteronomy 28:29)

This is a curse on finances. A kneading trough is where food is prepared. I liken this to the ability to produce. Production is the vehicle toward wealth building. Under this curse one’s ability to get wealth is stopped. People under this curse never have anything saved. They are continually oppressed by bill collectors and what little they accumulate is stolen by the spoilers.

DEBTORS

These same people are slaves to their creditors. Scripture declares, “Because thou served not the LORD thy God with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart, for the abundance of all things; Therefore shalt thou serve thine enemies that the LORD shall send against thee, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in want of all things: and he shall put a yoke of iron upon thy neck until he has destroyed thee.” (Deuteronomy 28:47-48)

This family curse of lack and poverty needs to be broken as God’s promise says, “And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work” (2 Corinthians 9:8).

Poverty is not having what you need to do God’s will or live without extreme hardship. It is not the blessing of God not to have the means to accomplish His plan for your life or live with your needs met. A person under this curse will squander, waste and get further in debt and bondage. They are candidates for get-rich schemes of all kinds. The blessed man is not focused on material wealth but on fulfilling their purpose in life as they keep and follow the commandments of the Lord putting first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness (Matthew 6:33).

6. NO AMBITION, VISION, DIRECTION

“And thou shalt grope at noonday as the blind gropeth in darkness, and thou shalt not prosper in thy ways: and thou shalt be only oppressed and spoiled evermore, and no man shall save thee.” (Deuteronomy 28:29)

We all have met those that have no internal vision for their lives. They set no goals and are blown to and fro by lives circumstances. This curse is revealed in those without ambition. They go aimlessly through life. Ambition is a strong desire to make a difference with your life. It’s a vision, dream, or aspiration to succeed. Those under this curse care less about tomorrow. Whatever they lay their hands to do soon dissipate and they have no drive to do other things having tried and failed many times. They are without hope and terribly negative. They “grope” as “blind men” with no direction, always uncertain and full of apathy and lukewarm-ness.

7. BONDAGE AND SLAVERY

“The stranger that is within thee shall get up above thee very high, and thou shalt come down very low. He shall lend to thee, and thou shalt not lend to him: he shall be the head, and thou shalt be the tail.” (Deuteronomy 28:43-44)

This person loses his uniqueness, liberty, and freedom. They are easily controlled and manipulated into a loss of identity. They lose their personal freedoms, can’t make decisions on their own, and must get permission from their masters. This person will look to other gods for provision and protection, not unto the Lord. They are faithless, carnal, and full of idolatry, entertainment, and anything that divides them from the lordship of Christ.

Knowing that God visits the iniquity of the fathers upon the children up to the third and fourth generation has been quite a shocker for some. You have learned however that curses don’t visit the family without cause. Someone up the family tree could have been the originator. Breaking family curses required you to think about what reoccurring things attack your family. By now we are sure the Holy Spirit has showed you some possibilities.

ADDICTION

People with addiction do not have control over what they are doing, taking or using which includes substance abuse as well as behavioral such as abuse of gambling. The pleasurable feelings they get from such act makes them to go back to engage in doing such again. There are great withdrawal symptoms when what one is addicted to is taken away. Most of these addictions are demonically induced and so must be treated as a case of release from demonic encroachments or deliverance. Addiction tends to usurp our identity, possess power over our wills, lie to us and promise us things it can’t deliver on, and wants to harm us and those we love

There are several mild addictions though like coffee or soap opera addictions that are not caused by demons.

“Addiction” is a coping method that helps us avoid pain or anything that is too vulnerable, too shameful, too scary, or simply too much for us to handle.  Addiction offers a withdrawal, a distraction, a way to avoid hard issues.  It’s highly personal too, meaning your addiction is as unique as your pain.  The greater your pain, the greater your shame about yourself.  And the greater your shame, the greater your addiction.   

As the addiction grows the more the feeling of powerlessness grows until a switch takes place and you feel as if you no longer have the addiction, but the addiction has you.  Even if you know it will do you great harm, and even if you know it will cause great harm to those you love, and even if you know it will destroy whatever is good in your life, you still choose it.”

Under this one may be infatuated with what is contrary to God’s ordination like one who has a beautiful wife but visits regularly an ugly or old woman sex mate outside his matrimonial jurisdiction. Some have nasty habits that are hygienically unclean like chewing tobacco. One could be drug dependence [including prescription drugs] and some do without taking controlled substances or narcotic drugs like Indian hemp, cocaine or as simple as cigarette nicotine dependence. Such may be obsessed, fixated or fanatical about what others enjoy at a moderate level like alcohol or wine. Craving have to do with illicit, wrong or lustful desires like sex outside the God ordained marriage. Stolen waters may be sweet but the end thereof is that such will be ensnared, caged or handcuffed up by demonic agents that are assigned to such immorality. Alcoholic and narcotic drugs are special agents in the hand of Satan and they are instruments of mass destruction.

Our culture treats addiction like a medical problem, like a disease like the Alcoholic Anonymous Group but it is demonically induced!  Certainly there are chemical and biological issues at play, but emotional and spiritual healing cannot take place simply through will power.  It must be addressed in relationship because under every addiction there is a yearning for relationship and when the trauma of a broken or abusive relationship leaves you fragmented, the craving for and repulsion for relationship is intensified and that’s where the addiction grows.

The problem that is see with such AA group is that they do not take time to fill the void in the person so delivered from addiction with the WORD and the SPIRIT of God so it is easier for the demons and host of others to come back in. The answer is not rehabilitation, reformation, nor education; but regeneration through faith in Jesus Christ. Jesus came to destroy the works of darkness, He came “To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in Me.” Acts 26:18.

“When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walk through dry places, seeking rest, and find none. Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he find it empty, swept, and garnished. Then goes he, and take with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.” Matt. 12:43-45

It is evident from these Scriptures that there are more demons than victims, for the Bible says this demon had a difficult time finding a body to possess. Thus, we see the vulnerability of those who open themselves up to demonic possession. There are demons waiting in line to move into the body of those who are unsaved and vulnerable. In fact, the Old Testament Hebrew word for “sorcerer” is the same root word from which we get the modern term “pharmacy.” Demons, drugs and alcohol are synonymous.

First, an unsaved person who is ignorant of the Scriptures and worldly is vulnerable to Satan. Second, the demon brings additional spirits with him that are wicked more than himself if the person has not been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb Jesus Christ. As a matter of fact it is quite easy for these demons to get back into former ensnared person if they are spiritually empty and not born again.

Believers cannot be possessed by demonic beings but they can be harassed, depressed 

and oppressed by the devil. If believers willfully sin, the adversary of their soul will hop in to torment their righteous soul. If the edge be broken, serpents will bite.

Demons Are Evil Spirits

“And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.” Revelation 16:13-14

The Devil's imitation of the Godhead is evident [Revelation 16:13-14]. The Bible mentions the Dragon, the Beast and the False Prophet. An evil spirit (demon) proceeds forth from each of these to gather the wicked kings of the earth to the Battle of Armageddon. This battle concludes the Tribulation period when the Lord returns to put down the Antichrist (the Beast) and the False Prophet and the Dragon (Satan himself, Revelation 20:2).

Demons look for human weakness and vulnerability. Alcohol and drugs are popular mediums through which demons (evil spirits) are able to infiltrate a person's soul and corrupt their behavior. Some of the most heinous crimes ever committed were done by drunkards. My friend, you can't take two drinks if you don't take the first. That's good advice for young people. The philosophy of not drinking and driving is insane.

1st John 4:4 teaches, “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” That Scripture is only true concerning the saved believer, whose sins have been taken away by the precious blood of Jesus. Although a born-again Christian cannot be demon-possessed so-to-speak, they CAN BE demon influenced. A demon cannot reside in the temple of the Holy Spirit (which is the body of the believer according to 1st Corinthians 3:17). However, Christians who dabble in Rock 'N' Roll, fornication, pornography and alcoholic beverages are opening themselves up to demonic influences and often harassed, oppressed, repressed, depressed and impressed.

HOW TO BREAK OUT OF CURSES

The first thing we need to look at are the steps of breaking out of curses. We must be fully surrendered to the Lord, confess our sins and that of our sinning parents [Leviticus 26:40, 42] knowing that you must fully forgive them [Mark 11:25-26], breaking any soul ties with the sinning parents so that inner healing and restoration can be effected, break the curse line of the demons and verbally command the demons to leave as you engage in spiritual warfare. Until we submit to God, we cannot resist the devil so that he can flee from us [James 4:7].

We must investigate our family line very well so that we can know the wrongs that they have committed and confess them before the Lord. Many physical abusive, drunkard, promiscuous or atheist [or false religion] parent do not know any better because that was what they saw their parents do and they believe it’s the norm! So do you until God delivers you! This spiritual bonding, soul tie or similar evil behavioral pattern must be broken!

CHRIST HAS REDEEMED US FROM CURSES

“Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith” Gal 3:13-14 

Jesus Christ came to obtain eternal redemption for us who had been in bondage to the kingdom of darkness. He was the “near kinsman”, to whom the right of redemption belonged; and as God, he was able to accomplish it. Jesus redeemed "us" God's elect, both of Jews and Gentiles; a peculiar people, the people of Christ, whom the Father gave unto him; some out of every kindred, tongue, people, and nation.

We were His from the foundation of the world and strayed away, and now he purchases us back with the price of his own blood, and so delivers us "from the curse of the law"; its sentence and execution of condemnation and death were abolished. Jesus having delivered us from wrath to come, and redeemed from the second death, the lake which burns with fire and brimstone; now brought us into the Kingdom of God.

Knowledge is very important here! The curse that Jesus delivered us from is the CURSE OF THE LAW at new birth but any man who knowingly entangle himself AGAIN with the yoke of bondage or follow the evil path or lifestyle of his fathers through sin, transgression and iniquity has broken the edge and Satan the serpent shall bite him.

THE ANOINTING DESTROYS THE YOKE

“And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing” Isa 10:27 

We had been yoked like two animals on the farm together with demonic entities because we have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, the anointing is the antidote that uses the authority of Christ to break off the yoke and lift off the burden so that we may no longer be slaves to Satan but be free to serve the Living God in an acceptable manner

“The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified” Isa 61:3 

There are men like Paul and Peter who are called into ministry and have been anointed like Jesus to release those who have been held bound and in captivity so that they can be free from bondages of many years. In truth deliverance is every saint ministry and we all have been spiritually equipped all to put demons to flight.

“He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover” Mark 16:16-18 

Ungodly soul ties, mourning, addictions and sexual perversions, spiritualism, witchcraft and other family curses are broken by the power of the Spirit. Many who finally see the Light of revelation knowledge and accepted the Word of Liberty has been freed from un-forgiveness, envy, jealousy, bitterness and the likes making it easy for the power of darkness to be cast out of their lives hereby receiving freedom. The spirit of the Word of God which is spirit and alive is sharper than any two headed sword to debase the uprising from the kingdom of darkness.

BEING SET FREE WHEN A HIGHER AUTHORITY DECLARES YOUR FREEDOM

“Let Reuben live, and not die; and let not his men be few” Deut. 33:6 

Men that are of higher capacity in grace and anointing have the ability under the unction of the Holy Spirit to reverse curse that has been previously placed upon a person, tribe or place. That was why Moses was able to overturn the curse that Jacob placed upon his firstborn Reuben.

SPIRITUAL WARFARE PRAYERS

Most times serious spiritual prayers has to be offered for the curse line to be completely broken, completely severed and demolished in the name of Jesus. Prayer and the word are two combinations that breaks the hold and effects of curses in our lives. It is here that we authoritatively under the anointing of the Holy Spirit stand against the antics of demons as we verbally engage them and command them to leave in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We must use the word of the Lord which is the sword of the spirit to engage demons and cast them out.

“Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two edged sword in their hand; To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people; To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; To execute upon them the judgment written: this honor have all his saints. Praise ye the LORD” Psalms 149:6-9 

We declare the written judgment verbally to cast out these demonic strangers out of their hidden places [Psalms 18:45]. Do not forget that they have come to harass, repress, depress, manipulate and oppress us and we must rise up to the challenge by contending against them in spiritual battle.

“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds; Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled” 2 Cor. 10:4-6 

Spiritual warfare is waged in order to free men held in bondage and captivities, defense of men's rights, properties, and liberties, and for the weakening of an enemy's power and possessions in order to set free those who are bound, and for the enlargement of kingdoms and dominions. This battle is twofold either we are breaking the family curses in our lives or we as ministers are standing with an accused person to pray under the anointing so that they can be set free. Daniel had the testimony that he understand spiritual books [Daniel 9:4], so he was properly armored to engage the Prince of Persia in battle with the help of the two arch angels and victory was eminent.

“Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered? But thus saith the LORD, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children. And I will feed them that oppress thee with their own flesh; and they shall be drunken with their own blood, as with sweet wine: and all flesh shall know that I the LORD am thy Savior and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob” Isa 49:24-26 

We must stand on the truth that sets us free using the whole armor of God in battling Satan [Eph. 6:10-18]; we overcome by the weakening of Satan's kingdom using the sword of the Spirit [both offensive and defensive weapon] to refute the advancement of the devil, by delivering the lawful captives, taking the prey from the mighty, turning souls from the power of Satan to God, and by translating them from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of Christ Jesus; and so for the enlargement of his kingdom, by spreading the Gospel far and near.

We must frequently read, study, and meditate on the word of God; it is our spoken defense and rock of offense against advancement of the evil one and breaking curses. Also the various graces of the Spirit, with which the Church of God are endued, must be taken into the account; such as the breast plate of faith in Christ, and love of God, his people, ordinances, cause, and interest; the helmet of salvation, hope, the girdle of truth and faithfulness, and the excellent grace of patience to endure all hardships, reproaches, insults, afflictions, and persecutions, cheerfully; and finally, all the acts of their ministration, such as preaching, prayer, the administration of ordinances, and laying on of censures, with the consent of the church are engaged to war against the onslaught of Satan, fallen angels and demonic agents.

“Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saves them out of their distresses. He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions” Psalms 107:19-20 

We must bind principalities and powers, dominion and authorities, all spiritual wickedness in high places [Matthew 16:19, Matt. 12:29] so that they will not hinder our prayers in Jesus name.

“And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven” Matt. 16:19 

We must employ the services of angels like Daniel did for they are ministering spirits sent forth to help the heir of salvation [Hebrews 1:14]. We must issue words of command and decrees against all ancestral and generational spirits that came into our lives and break all spoken curses, and negative words that has been released over our lives in the name of Jesus. We must break the legal right of all generational spirits and rebuke all familiar spirits and spirit guides operating behind a curse in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. All curses on our finances, causes of sickness and diseases, written and spoken curses, generational rebellion must be reprimanded and we must turn around every curses into godly blessings in the name of Jesus.
