“Help, LORD; for the godly man cease; for the
faithful fail from among the children of men. They speak vanity every one
with his neighbor: with flattering lips and with a DOUBLE HEART do they speak” Psalms
12:1-2 [emphasis mine]
There are Christian who
readily displays ungodly character mentioned above and they are double minded
folks, who say one thing, and mean another; their words are not to be depended
upon; there is no faithfulness in them; they are pious in the Church but venomously
inclined in their homes and on their job. Their lifestyle outside the Church or
spiritual atmosphere is earthly, sensual and demonic and some unbelievers vowed
never to accept Jesus as Lord and Savior if what they see in them is what
Christianity is all about.
The Chinese reckon a man of
"two hearts", as they call him, a very wicked man, and none more remote
from honesty. These men speak lies, do debauchee and are spiritually empty inside;
though raving wolves but clothed with false humility, filled with falsehood and
hide under religion void of Christ-likeness. They live pretentious holy lifestyle
and are under a disguise that conceals their true nature; and full of hypocrisy.
“But let him ask in faith,
nothing wavering. For he that wavers is like a wave of the sea driven with the
wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of
the Lord. A DOUBLE MINDED man is unstable in all his ways” James 1:6-8
A double heart is literally one
who has “a heart and a heart”. Declaring their love for Christ but not true in
act and speech, despising the Spirit of truth and walking in error!, they lie
and have not put off the old habits [Col. 3:9] .These folks deceitfully express
godliness but denies the power thereof, hide under the cloak of the Church but
err not knowing or living by the standard of the scriptures. They flatteringly
declare their piousness but do otherwise walking in insincerity, immorality,
wickedly and dishonestly!
“Can clean water and dirty
water both flow from the same spring?” James 3:11
Good and bad coming from their
cistern because they are not sternly standing to trust the Lord with all their
hearts and are leaning on their understanding and the demonic suggestions from
Satan who constantly barrage their hearts with thoughts that when yielded to
throw them off the boat of stability in Christ Jesus.
Their consciences were
debauched and seared: Who being past feeling had no sense of their sin, nor of
the misery and danger of their case by means of it; whereupon they gave
themselves over unto lasciviousness. They indulged themselves in their filthy
lusts; and, yielding themselves up to the dominion of these, they became the
slaves and drudges of sin and the devil, working all uncleanness with
greediness. They made it their common practice to commit all sorts of
uncleanness, and even the most unnatural and monstrous sins including sexual
perversions, and that with insatiable desires. When men's consciences are once
seared, there are no bounds to their sins. When they set their hearts upon the
gratification of their lusts, what can be expected but the most abominable
sensuality and lewdness.
These charlatans will kiss and
kill, they will smile in your face and cut your throat. This is the devil's
image complete, a complication of malice and falsehood. The times are bad
indeed when there is no such thing as sincerity to be met with, when an honest
man knows not whom to believe nor whom to trust, nor dare put confidence in a
friend who embraces with the right hand but have a dagger in their left hand. Woe
to those who help to make the times thus perilous. [Micah 7:5, Micah 7:6; Jer. 9:4,
Jer. 9:5].
Stability is far from them and
they waver in their thoughts, speech and action. Seems to do some things right
but other times they walk perversely, they waver in their faith, sometimes
trusting the Lord but other times doubting God’s ability to bring His promises
to pass. James says they are unstable in all their ways, let them not think
that they shall receive anything from the Lord. Heaven is crying REPENT!
“I know what you have done; I know that you
are neither cold nor hot. How I wish you were either one or the other! But
because you are lukewarm, neither hot nor cold, I am going to spit you out of
my mouth!” Rev 3:15-16
The Lord Jesus Christ Himself
is sounding final warning to them! To be hot means to be on fire for God and be
found pleasing in His sight but cold means allowing evil works to take them
over continually. Change your lifestyle
else I will throw you out of the kingdom and give you over to your reprobate
mind to do evil continually and Satan the father of lies shall take you over
fully saith the Lord. God is set to drive many away as He drove Adam and Eve
out of the Garden of Eden if they do not repent.
These have flattering lips,
speak evil of those walking in the Light and truth and they oppress the pure!
All puffed up in pride. Not humble! Far from the grace that God richly
supplies! [Psalms 12:2-5]. They are supposed to be staunch members of the
Church but their hearts are not stably serving, knowing and doing the works of
God
“So get rid of your old self,
which made you live as you used to---the old self that was being destroyed by
its deceitful desires. Your hearts and minds must be made completely new, you
must put on the new self, which is created in God's likeness and reveals itself
in the true life that is upright and holy. No more lying, then! Each of you
must tell the truth to the other believer, because we are all members together
in the body of Christ. Eph. 4:22-25
Time is winding down so Christ
is giving us a last chance to change for good! The time has come for us all not
live, and behave ourselves, as ignorant and unconverted heathens do, who are
wholly guided by an understanding employed about vain things, their idols and
their worldly possessions, things which are no way profitable to their souls.
We must be kingdom of God focused and renew our minds and be transformed into
the image and likeness of Christ [2 Cor. 3:15-18]. We must get out of carnal
behavior pattern and lifestyle and begin to walk in the spirit, not fulfilling
the lust of the flesh.
“Be ye angry, and sin not: let
not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil. Let
him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labor, working with his hands
the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that need. Let no
corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the
use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. And grieve
not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of
redemption. Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamor, and evil
speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to
another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake
hath forgiven you” Eph. 4:26-32
A life of holiness is the only
way of life which God requires and approves, and by which we live to him in
light and knowledge of the TRUTH. Such lifestyle resembles God himself, in his
purity, righteousness, truth, and goodness. Our destructive and wilful
ignorance was the cause of our estrangement from this life of God. The
blindness or the hardness of their heart must be relegated as God promised to
give us a heart of flesh and inscribe His words in our hearts. It is time to
receive the instructive rays of the divine light and become like Jesus.
