BOOK DESCRIPTION

Dominion mandate is the appointment of believers to a position of authority over all created things on planet earth. This mandate was restored and renewed under the dominion of Christ. It is bringing the ruler-ship of God into all sphere of Life. Dominion is the Hebrew word “radah” meaning to reign, prevail over or against, to bring into subjection or to tread down. The Garden of Eden was a prototype of the paradise of God where the first man exercised the dominion mandate and it was a place of fellowship in the presence of God, filled with four rivers which makes the plant life to flourish, the river flows from the mountain top or ice peak so it was an heavenly flow and full of life.

Such produces abundant vegetation and the leaves are for the healing of the nations. It is a place where man exercised the ability to be fruitful, multiply, subdues, replenish and have dominion over all creatures of God on planet earth. Lastly on this issue there are many precious jewels gold, onyx and bdellium just like seen on the high priest which was a type of the heavenly dwelling where many precious stones resides

“And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moves upon the earth. And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat” Gen. 1:26-29

Dominion in its simplest form is power, authority or control over something or someone. It is the ability to request or command and expects a fulfillment of that appeal. To have dominion is to rule, to be in charge. Dominion is a command or authoritative order. The above verse clearly teaches that dominion has been given over the animals and the earth, which mankind has clearly fulfilled and continues to fulfill [Ps. 8:6-9, Heb. 2:6-9]. Man was created in the image and likeness of God on planet earth so that he can bring all that heaven is, was and has to earth the newly created territory where man has been capacitated to rule as delegated authority or ambassador of God. All that is on earth was designed to reflect or look like the kingdom of heaven.

Mandate is an official order or commission to do something; it is the authority to carry out the dominion policy as instituted by God. It is both a verbal and written authorization given to men by God to act in His stead on planet earth. It is an official command and lastly it is the power to act as God’s duly recognized delegated power on earth. One very important mandate given to the New Testament saints is to bring people out of darkness by translating them into the kingdom of His dear Son where light dispels their darkness.

We have the mandate to recreate heaven on earth, it is the season of “thy will be done on earth as it has been done in heaven. We have been given the spirit of revelation and wisdom to enhance the beauty of God’s creation here on earth. Our Jerusalem or where we reside now is where we start the change and spread it to our Judea, Samaria and to the uttermost part of the earth even by the power of the Holy Spirit [Acts 1:8]. The dominion mandate thus authorizes all honorable human occupations as a stewardship under God.

The Scriptures do teach that Christ has dominion over all mankind [Jude 25], and that believers will reign and rule with Him [Rev. 5:10]. Dominion is all about knowing who you are in Christ and understanding that in you, through Him is the power to lay hold onto the promises of God and possess them until the day of Christ. Dominion make you understand that you can do what God said you can do, have what God said that you can have and be what God said you can be regardless to what things looks like, sounds or appear like. We are to have both physical dominion and spiritual one. God never intended for His people to live in defeat. He destined you to rule.
Except we first take dominion over ourselves, over habits and desires and unbridled lusts and passions that are in us we can never expect to have dominion over anything else! We must crucify, dominate and control flesh and make it bow to the dictates of God else it will hinder the plans and purpose of God.
You will never be able to exercise power or authority over anything until you have first conquered or mastered self working through flesh, worldly desires and evil attractions through Satan. Going against demonic activities, battling demons, principalities and powers, and rebuking the forces of evil, but until you conquer and crucify your flesh you are no match for the enemy. Authority does not come through confession. Authority is uncompromisingly tied to responsibility and knowledge of who we are and the heavenly arsenal available in us and for us. And it is only one facet of walking in dominion.
“And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth. And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moves upon the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea; into your hand are they delivered. Every moving thing that lives shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things” Gen 9:1-3
To show how important the dominion mandate given to the first Adam was, God spoke it again to Noah. However the dominion factor was well spelt out in the below stated psalms which declared that we are just a little lower than the triune God. He actually was magnanimous enough to give the earth realm to men to dominate over. God has given us influence and committed us to being agents of change, everything we need to transform the culture and cause the lost to be drawn to Him is made available unto us, be it favor, creativity, power, wisdom and so on.
“What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honor. Thou made him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet: All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field; the fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passes through the paths of the seas. O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!” Psalms 8:6-9

You have got to believe God without being intimidated. We must stand on God’s word of promise and not think, act or walk like natural men does because we have the earnest of the Holy Spirit in us. It is He that empowers us [Acts1:8] and here by illuminate us through the spirit of wisdom so as to understand who we are in Christ and believe God whose promises never fail but come to pass.
It is this dominion mandate knowledge and understanding that is the premises that Caleb stood upon when he asked for the mountain knowing that with God is a majority and that victory is secured in Christ. Dominion gives us boldness to declare that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us [Phil. 4:13], When we rise up and take dominion, then we will be well able to come up to new dimensions, new territory, new realms of power and new experiences with God.
“…the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do” Daniel 11:32 exploits.

Let us always have the assurance that greater is God that is in us than he that is in the world [1 John 4:4]. God is greater than any problem, sickness, sin, and all oppression. Every sin, every negative force, and every problem that stands in your way must be taken out, our ruling and dominion must not be by tyranny but responsible stewardship. God delights in us and he will give us the Land as promised just as He did to the Israelites also.
The dominion mandate hereby authorizes all honorable human occupations on planet earth as a stewardship under God. We must not only dominate in all fields of authorized vocation but also over all nature on earth as God’s duly authorized dealer, leader and ambassador on the earth realm. We must establish a righteous standard as God’s duly authorized representative who is above all and should have no competitive governing body over the earth realm.
The authority bestowed upon man recreated in God’s image is dependent on man’s conforming to become like Jesus Christ in an ever increasing splendor as he continually look at the perfect law of liberty that will set him free from superfluity of naughtiness and all filthiness and save his soul [2 Cor. 3:18, James 1:21]. So it is uncompromisingly tied to responsibility. This is how to free oneself from walking in defeat and fulfilling the destiny of ruling on planet earth.
Invariably, we must understand and have knowledge of the potency of our position and authority in Christ to maximally exercise dominion on earth. A man with expertise in using sword will easily annihilate another with ballistic missiles and automatic rifle who has no knowledge of how to use it; that is why the bible says my people are destroyed because of lack of knowledge. Everything that we need to transform the culture and cause unbelievers to be drawn into the Kingdom of God has been given to us, all we need to do is to draw from the abundance of grace, power, wisdom, authority, knowledge in our spirit man to do His works.

GOD’S ORIGINAL PLAN
Taking dominion therefore requires more than simply wielding authority in the name of Jesus. It requires knowledge and the understanding and rightful use of our position in Christ. To discover what that position is, we need to look at God's original plan and purpose for mankind.
The Bible declares this purpose: "God said, Let Us [Father, Son, and Holy Spirit] make mankind in Our image, after Our likeness; and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, and the birds of the air, the [tame] beasts, and over all of the earth, and over everything that creeps upon the earth. So God created man in His own image, in the image and likeness of God He created him; male and female He created them.
"And God blessed them, and said to them, Be fruitful, multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it ... and have dominion over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, and over every living creature that moves upon the earth'" (Gen. 1:26-28, The Amplified Bible, emphasis added).
Having made man in His image, God provided Adam and Eve, the earth's new stewards, with intellect, creative abilities and an innate gift of leadership to rule and reign. Our Father is always about the business of His kingdom, and He created man with the same calling and design. It was a natural outcome that man be given the responsibility to manage creation, including the earth and all living creatures.
To understand, let's look more closely at this original stewardship appointment. Kabas, the Hebrew word for "subdue," means "to bring into subjection, to dominate." It suggests that the party being subdued is not willing to submit. Genesis 1:28 implies that creation was unwilling to submit to man's leading. Man would have to bring creation into order by exerting his strength.
Radah, the Hebrew word for "dominion," refers not to God's rule and responsibility but to man's. It means "to manage or reign from a position of sovereignty." God fashioned us to share His own authority over His creation.
Adam was to live and move in a kingly manner over the earth as a son of God along with the incredible privileges and weighty responsibilities of this position. Dominion was his birthright and pleasure.
But after Adam succumbed to Satan's deception in the Garden of Eden, the enemy established strongholds in all areas of life to hinder our kingdom mandate.

Thankfully, God made a way for us to regain our kingdom authority. He did not forget His covenant plan. After Adam and Eve sinned, He sent Jesus, the second Adam, to save man from his lost condition and provide a better covenant (see Heb. 8:6).

  1. Dominion mandate is a powerful tool in the hand of the Lord with which our ambassadorial position in God is well explained. It pays us to get adequate knowledge with which we can debase the allusions of Satan from being underneath our feet.
